
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Harold Dow is dead, Dow’s death confirmed by CBS tonight. Dow’s cause of death has not been released, he was 62.
Dow inked OJ Simpson’s first interview after the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. he also got the Hearst exclusive in 1976 following her kidnapping.
He started first with Theta Cable TV in Santa Monica, moving to CBS in 1972 though KCOP-TV. he later joined 48 hours with Street Stories (1992 to 1993) and would appear on the CBS Evening News and CBS News Sunday Morning over three decades. he won a Peabody, five Emmys and more industry honors.
Susan Zirinsky, executive producer of “48 Hours Mystery issued the following statement tonight. “Insatiably curious, he was happiest when he was on the road deep into a story. It was his humanity, which was felt by everyone he encountered, even in his toughest interviews, that truly defined the greatness of his work. he was the most selfless man I have known.”
