Tuesday 7th September 7:50 PM BST (+1GMT)
After guiding Italy to a win in his first competitive game as Azzurri manager, Cesare Prandelli will be hoping for another victory when the 2006 World champions host Faroe Islands at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Tuesday.
The Azzurri trailed 1-0 at half time in Tallinn, but rode on the back of a superb individual performance from Antonio Cassano to win 2-1 against Estonia. it was Italy’s first win of 2010 and broke the national team’s seven game winless streak
A goalkeeping error from Palermo’s Salvatore Sirigu allowed Estonia to take the lead through Sergei Zenjov. Italy responded after the interval through Cassano and the Sampdoria striker also had a hand in the winner as he set up Leonardo Bonucci for the Azzurri’s second of the game.
The Faroe Islands have lost both their games in Group C so far. They were beaten 2-1 by Estonia in August and lost 3-0 to Serbia on Friday.
