One of the oldest team in the National Hockey League is the New York Rangers. they are one of the Original Six, the first teams in the league. The team was started in 1962. The New York Rangers is one of the teams to watch for. The first year the team played, they snagged the American Division title. Since then, the Ranger tickets have been selling.

The New York Rangers was the first team to have traveled by plane to go to their games. This was for their match with the Maple Leafs in 1929. The Rangers have four Stanley Cups that they can be proud of. they were the first American franchise to have won such an accolade. they won the first Cup in 1928. they bested the Toronto Maple Leafs for their second Cup in 1933. Despite having to travel abroad in 1940, the team managed to win their third Cup. The most recent win for the team was the Cup in 1994. With such performance, Rangers ticket sale has been unfaltering. even if the games were held abroad, the fans never failed to show their support to the team.

The time between the third and most recent Stanley Cup win of the team was known was the Curse of 1940. it was believed to be the result of the action of the management in 1940. The mortgage on the Madison Square Garden was burned in the 1940 Stanley Cup. In so doing, many believed the disrespect on the Cup has placed a curse on the team. however, winning the 1994 has broken the Curse of the 1940. The Rangers fans never failed to support the team despite the losing streak that they suffered from. The continued to patronize the Rangers tickets and maintained their attendance in the games.

The Rangers surely have made a comeback since then. With improvements in the player roster as well as the coaching staff, the team managed to capture the attention of many. The unending support of the fans helped out as well. Despite not winning another Cup, the Rangers never faltered in providing great games to watch for the fans.

The fans are even more elated in watching the games of the Rangers when they have acquired some of the more known players in the league. their rosters once held Wayne Gretzky, Theoren Fleury and Eric Lindros’s names. The team has continued to show their potential on the ice. Fans and enthusiasts alike cannot wait to watch the team do their best on the ice again.

The New York Rangers and The Stanley Cup

You have probably heard some people talking about reverse cell phone lookup but you have yet to learn exactly what it is and how it works. if that is the case, then prepare to be amazed because this will open your eyes to possibilities you had not considered before. Let us start by answering the question:

What is a reverse cell phone lookup?

Mobile phone lookup is a simple yet very effective way to disclose all the information you may need about the owner of a mobile phone from which you may have received an unwanted or suspicious call. I am sure that more than one time you have seen a number in your screen which you just do not know whether to answer or not because you fear it might be from an unwanted caller or someone you simply do not want to talk to.

In a situation like this you are left wondering, and thinking about returning the call or not, and this state of uncertainty can reach really uncomfortable levels if you do not something about it.

That something is precisely a reverse phone lookup, because starting from that unknown number you can find out, first of all, who owns it and then you can learn where that person lives or has lived, who are their relatives, alternate mobile numbers and more.

The reverse cell phone lookup basically uncovers all the information you need to know about an unidentified caller so that you do not have to wonder anymore and feel safe every time you answer your phone.

What is the value of using a reverse cell phone search?

Well, aside from simply satisfying your curiosity, this is a tool that may help you uncover unwanted callers who may be harassing you, such as prank callers, perverts or even scammers, all of whom will try to remain anonymous in order to pull off their little stunt.

This means that you can learn all about any mobile number, even if it is unlisted, as the reverse cell phone lookup service provides updated information regarding the owner of the line from which you are receiving the call.

The process is super simple and quick, and starts by entering the number you wish to lookup, reviewing the preliminary information about the number and then choosing the option of a single cell phone number lookup or unlimited number lookup.

Imagine the face of one of these prank callers or perverts when you call back and tell them their whole life history, they will be speechless and more than likely ready to stop their game, because the one thing an anonymous caller cannot stand is to get caught.

What is the cost of this service?

There are ways to lookup mobile phones for free, but in most cases you will find little or no access to the information, as you will be relying on public data that may be incomplete or protected by privacy settings.

Therefore, if you really need to find reliable information about the owner of a mobile number or a landline, using a paid service is the way to go, because this will ensure that you are accessing an updated database.

In this case, the cost of a cell lookup will be less than the cost of a couple of fast food combos and you will get a detailed report including addresses, alternate phone numbers, relatives and more.

Is the reverse cell phone lookup a scam?

A scam is something that promises a and gives you B or nothing at all for your money. when you perform a reverse cell phone lookup through a reputable website, you get the information you are looking for, exactly as it is offered, there is really nothing more to it, the process is straightforward and the results are instantaneous.

Indeed, you can even know before hand what information is available about the number you want to trace, so there is really nothing hidden or complicated about a cell phone lookup, you will simply get what you pay for.

Reverse Cell Phone Lookup – How To Reverse Search A Mobile Phone Number

There are several subplots in the Game 7 match up between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets. how will Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum respond to Kobe Bryant calling them out about their game 6 performance. how will Andrew Bynum react to Mike Brown’s benching. Metta World Peace makes his return from a seven game suspension. and of course, the obvious, will the Nuggets momentum carry them on to round two and a face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers wouldn’t be living up to their legacy if there wasn’t soap opera-esque drama coating the game. but how make or break is this situation? Magic Johnson believes that the careers of Coach Mike Broan, Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol rest on the outcome.

“They’re going to run Mike Brown first out of town,” Johnson said as an ESPN NBA analyst Friday night. “Then second will be [Andrew] Bynum. Then third will be [Pau] Gasol.”

Mike Brown is in the first year of his deal and I still believe that this gig was way above his overall skill set. Jim Buss made the Brown selection and Bynum obviously is his guy but I think there’s a lot to be said about Magic’s comments. LA is a LAKERS TOWN. While there are other teams, even other successes, the last decade saw the Lakers bring 5 championships to the city. No Football team to dilute the pressure. a Dodgers team that’s just coming out from under bad ownership and questions about the fan experience at the games. Lakers set the standard. Jim Buss may not want to act quickly but the pressure to maintain a viable on court product is palpable.

Lakers can’t go out in the first round, can they?

Magic Johnson thinks Mike Brown, Andrew Bynum & Pau Gasol will all go if Lakers lose

Paul Pierce shrugs off pain

by on May 12, 2012

ATLANTA — going strictly by his 16-point, 7-for-17 performance, including a 4-for-10 first half, you could say that Paul Pierce [stats]’s sore left knee played a role last night.

But the captain wasn’t prepared to go that far after the Celtics [team stats]’ 87-86 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

“I don’t think it bothered me too much,” he said after a brief hesitation. “I tried not to think about it. I was probably a step slower than I usually am, but it didn’t affect me too much. I’m not a riser anyway.”

His health remains a concern for his coach, however.

“With all of our guys. I didn’t think Paul would play the other night, but he does what he does. He’s just such a gamer,” Doc Rivers said before the game. “but we had already tweaked the (Game 3) lineup preparing for him not to play. the fact that he did was a bonus.

Ray (Allen) feels good, and he’s probably the healthiest,” Rivers said of another banged-up Celtic. “Avery (Bradley) has to be feeling better because he got through the game without any injuries, so that’s two more days of his shoulder being stronger. but honestly you don’t know once the game starts what will happen. you just have to be ready for anything.”

Ryan Hollins was sent into the game to create mayhem under the basket, and performed that task so well the backup center played 19 minutes that were low on stats but high on body count.

“He was terrific,” Rivers said. “He was out there in place of (Greg) Stiemsma, Brandon (Bass), everybody. his energy was great. the one thing you know when Ryan comes into the game is that something is going to happen. It could be good or bad, but something is happening. That’s why we put him in, and we rode him. his energy was great. He’s an instigator with how hard he plays. He gets under people’s skin, and that’s fine by us.”

Allen, who scored 15 points in the loss, was out on the Philips Arena floor shooting yesterday morning as if he had never missed a day. Considering the strain Allen puts on his right ankle simply from his work moving without the ball, his coach is impressed.

“part of what Ray had to get through was getting on the floor, because there was pain involved,” Rivers said. “He had to jump, and once he jumped into the water he found out that he could do more. the thing with him is that his ankle has just reacted on days where you just don’t know when it will happen. He’s playing on eggshells in a lot of ways, and we are with him, because you don’t know his next step. you have to just play him. I was joking with him — I’m going to get every minute out of him just in case. but I think he’s good to go.”

Though he tried working out with a brace on his left shoulder prior to Game 4, Bradley quickly scrapped the device. He has no intention of giving it another try, either.

“I tried it, but it limited me so much that I didn’t feel comfortable with it,” Bradley said. “It not only affected my shooting, but a lot of movements. Raising my hand on the blind side, things like that it limited me a lot.” . . .

So you’ve been watching a lot of Storage Wars, and Pawn Stars, and American Pickers, and now you want a piece of the action.

Well, put on your haggling hat this weekend and head over to James Logan High School in Union City for your chance to be on the pilot episode of Flea Market Wars. the new reality show will be taped in the parking lot there every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the rest of the year.

Mike Gouvea, who’s producing the show and organizing the market, says he plans to donate the proceeds to New Haven Unified School District to help struggling local schools as they face nearly $11 million in budget cuts:

“This is just incredible. Not only does it help the school district, it brings the community together.”

The concept is similar to Storage Wars but with a philanthropic twist.

Each weekend, a different celebrity guest will visit the flea market and purchase an item that costs $20 or less from five different vendors. Those purchases will then be appraised for their retail value at the end of each episode, and at the end of the season, the celebrity guest who made the most profit from their purchases will receive $50,000 to give to charity.

Also the five vendors who sold the items of greatest value will receive $50,000 to split amongst them.

Gouvea scouted other Bay Area locations in cities like Oakland. but he told Zoneil Maharaj of Union City Patch that flea markets in larger cities were too congested and filled with commercial businesses:

“We’re not looking for the phone sellers. We’re looking for the regular people. We want people to come out and sell things from their garage.”

You can try to get on air as a shopper or a vendor, but spaces for the latter are limited and filling up fast. according to Gouvea, more than 100 vendors have already signed up. Vending spaces are approximately 33-feet by 22-feet, or the size of three parking spaces, and cost $30 per vendor.

Those interested in vending at the event can email fleamarketwars@gmail.com.

‘Flea Market Wars’ hitting Union City

The Boston Celtics are the most successful franchise in NBA history. They have a league record 17 world championships and their history is filled with excellent players as well as hall of famers. They were blessed to have legendary players such as bill Russell, Bob Cousy, bill Sharman, John Havlicek, Tommy Heinsohn and legendary head coach Red Auerbach to lead them in the late 50s to early 60s. They have won an astounding 11 world titles under Red Auerbach and bill Russell’s leadership.

Shortly after bill Russell officially retired as player-coach in 1969, the team was in rebuilding mode and subsequently signed Dave Cowens, Jo Jo White, and Paul Silas. They won two championships with this core with the help of former Boston player and then coach Tom Heinsohn.

The 1985-86 Celtics is the greatest Boston Celtics team in franchise history. the Celtics won 67 games and went 40-1 at the Boston Garden. the 40-1 home record is still the best home record by any team in NBA history. Bird won his third consecutive MVP award putting him in select company as only him, bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain garnered the feat of getting three consecutive MVP trophies in three years.

Bird won his third MVP in what is widely considered as the best of his career. He averaged 25.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists to go along with 2 steals and 49.6% field goal percentage in the regular season. He upped his production in the postseason when he averaged 24 points 9.3 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 2.1 steals to go along with 51.7% field goal percentage. the Celtics dominated the playoffs losing only one game in the first three rounds, and disposing the Houston Rockets in 6 games to win them their 16th NBA championship and the last of Bird’s career.

Although the Celtics had a lot of legendary teams that they could be proud of, the 1985-86 Celtics team is certainly up there as the greatest Boston Celtics team of all time.

There are many big names entering free agency this offseason and we’re taking a look at the top 20 MLB free agents for the 2012 season:

1. Albert Pujols (1B) – Simply the best and most consistent hitter since he came into the league in 2001. He’s led his team to two World Series and should be in for a monster payday. Although he’s in his 30s already, Pujols will command a 6-8 year deal with an annual salary well above $20 million per year. The Cardinals would love to bring him back but he will be taking offers from plenty of teams, including the Cubs.

2. Prince Fielder (1B) – An absolute beast at the plate, Fielder is right behind Pujols as one of the top free agents of the off season. He is years younger than Pujols but his weight is a concern. He will receive many offers from teams that want a superstar first basemen and will command a salary similar to that of Adrian Gonzalez (7 years, $154 million).

3. Jose Reyes (SS) – Reyes is a dynamic player and one of the best short stops in the game. his speed, defense, and high batting average will get Reyes $20 million a year despite facing many injury concerns. Any team would love to have him; the only question is how many years they think he can stay healthy.

4. CJ Wilson (SP) – With Sabathia off the market, CJ Wilson is the best pitcher in this year’s free agency. Many teams would love to add the sharp lefty to their rotation so Wilson will have many bidders. He’s coming off a fantastic 2011 with a 16-7 record and sub 3 ERA. however, he’s only been in the league for 2 full seasons, so there is a risk in giving him the big bucks.

5. Jimmy Rollins (SS) – He’s not the all-star player he used to be when he won an MVP award in 2007 but many teams will still be interested in his services. He’s in his low 30s and has injury concerns but should have many teams interested.

6. Edwin Jackson (SP) – He won’t receive a superstar contract but Edwin Jackson will be highly sought after in a thin pitching market. Jackson doesn’t have great career numbers but has shown signs of being a star. The Yankees and many other teams that need pitching will surely make him an offer.

7. Heath Bell (RP) – With Papelbon receiving a record contract for a reliever from the Phillies, Heath Bell becomes the most sought after closer. He’s been one of the best closers in the league the last few years while playing on a small market team. however, he is 34 years old and teams will be nervous giving him anything more than a 3 year deal.

8. David Ortiz (DH) – Big Papi had one of the best seasons in his career last year, batting.309 and hitting 29 homers. however, the last time he batted over.300 was 2007 when he hit 35 homers. He hasn’t hit that many homers in a season since and Ortiz is clearly on the decline. it is understood that he will test free agency but allow the Red Sox to match any offer. He would like a three year deal but at 36 years old, Ortiz might have a hard time getting what he wants. Without a clear replacement at DH, he will likely be in a Red Sox uniform for the last few years of his career.

9. mark Buehrle (SP) – a consistent veteran, Buehrle is in line for what may be his last big pay day at age 32. CBS Sportsline is reporting that more than 8 teams have expressed interest in signing him: The Marlins have already made Buehrle an offer, and the Nationals recently visited him at his home. The Cubs, Twins, Rangers, Cardinals, Red Sox and Yankees are reportedly interested as well.

10. Carlos Beltran (OF) – One of the best outfielders in the game during his prime, Beltran is still an effective outfielder at 34. He batted.300 in 2011 and still drove in 84 RBI on a depleted Mets team. Without a clear replacement for J.D. Drew, the Red Sox could be a likely destination.

11. Francisco Rodriguez (RP) – after half a season in Milwaukee, the Brewers declined K-Rod’s $17.5 million option for 2012, sending him into free agency. Rodriguez has been one of baseball’s best closers since 2005 and had 62 saves in 2008. At 28, K-Rod will generate interest from many teams and get a multiyear deal.

12. Roy Oswalt (SP) – The Phillies declined an option on Oswalt letting him slip into free agency. his days of being an ace are behind him but he can still be an effective pitcher at age 34. Plenty of teams will be interested but injury concerns could hurt his chances of getting a multi-year deal.

13. Aramis Ramirez (3B) – Ramirez had a big bounce back year in 2011, batting.306, hitting 26 homers and driving in 93 RBI. The Cubs would like to bring him back but won’t offer him the multi-year deal he wants. He will draw plenty of interest from around the league, including the Tigers and Angels.

14. Ryan Madson (RP) – in his first chance as a closer, Madson converted 32 of 34 save opportunities and will be a highly sought after free agent. He doesn’t have the track record of Bell or Papelbon but will receive many offers after such a stellar season in which he posted a 2.37 ERA.

15. Hiroki Kuroda (SP) – Kuroda has received an offer from a Japanese team and has said in the past he would like to play there or remain with the Dodgers. however, at age 35 and with the Dodgers organization in turmoil, it is unlikely they would bring him back for significant money. He has been impressive in his 4 years in the MLB, boasting a 3.45 ERA over those 4 seasons.

16. Jason Kubel (OF/DH) – after playing on the Twins for his entire career, Kubel will test free agency. his best year came in 2009 when he batted .300 and hit 28 homers with 103 RBI. however, he’s struggling since batting .249 in 2010 and missing half of 2011 with an injury. Still should generate plenty of interest from teams looking for a 3rd or 4th outfielder.

17. Paul Maholm (SP) – He’s made at least 26 starts each year since 2006 but has been relatively quiet pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s coming off a good season in which he had a 3.66 ERA and could be a solid 4th or 5th starter for many teams.

18. Kelly Johnson (2B) – One of the leagues best second basemen in 2010 when he hit.284 with 26 homers, Johnson had a terrible year in 2011 batting.222. Still young at 29, he should receive a number of offers because of his rare power at 2B.

19. Josh Willingham (OF) – At 32, Willingham will be looking for a multiyear deal after coming off a strong year in which he hit 29 homers and drove in 98 RBI. his batting average was a cool.246 but he will generate a lot of interest from teams looking for a solid corner outfielder for the next few years.

20. Francisco Cordero (RP) – Despite his age at 36, Cordero is coming off one of the best season in his careers, converting 37 saves with a 2.45 ERA. He is a solid short term solution at closer but will not create the same buzz as some of the younger guys at his position.

2012 MLB Free Agent Power Rankings

You do not lead people by beating them over the head. That’s assault not leadership. – General Dwight Eisenhower.

My own take on Ike’s comment on leadership is: Leadership is not about being out in front of the group with a great big title. It’s about being right in the middle of the group with a disciplined and great, big heart.

Considering the above observations, do a quick personal assessment of where your leadership skills are in relationship by answering the following questions. doing the assessment, it will help you put better focus on the discussion of the six powerful steps to becoming a winning leader that follows.

The self-assessment questions are:

Do you have the skills for inspirational leadership?

Is the environment your leadership style creates one that is positive and hopeful?

As a leader, are you truly connected to what your people are thinking and feeling?

Is yours a compassionate style of leadership?

What about you as a leader helps you to continuously be aware of your impact on your people and their productivity?

With the assessment completed, you can now search through the following information for answers to areas of leadership in which you would like to improve.

The six steps to assure you and they don’t lose because you didn’t lead are embodied in the acronym, LEADER™. the primary purpose of this article is to give a summary of the meaning behind the letters in the acronym not go into details of how to do each one. I’ll save that for later articles.

The L in the acronym represents Look/Listen. this step has to do with objectively looking at and listening to yourself and each of your people. the purpose of the step is to develop congruency between what you see and hear on both levels and what you actually do. it is only through having congruence between what you see, hear and do that you can build trusting relationships. in short, winning leaders can be trusted.

E represents Empathy. the Cheyenne Native Americans have a proverb that speaks to the critical nature of this step very powerfully. Do not judge your neighbor until you walk two moons in his moccasins. in other words, with empathy comes the clarity for you to care with congruency and objectivity so you can lead with a more collaborative focus.

The third letter in the acronym represents Assess/Add. the step has to do with an ability to remain calm, deliberate, and balanced in analyzing situations and people so you can add appropriate clarity going forward.

It’s like the baseball legend, Yogi Berra, is reputed to have said: if you don’t know where you’re going you may end up somewhere else. So, the power in this step is that the effectiveness of any strategies for productive change will only be as good as the breadth and depth of information on which decisions are based and actions are taken.

I don’t know who first coined the following philosophy but it certainly has direct applicability to the next step in the LEADER™ model. the philosophy is: Wishing consumes as much energy as planning. and, so it is with the D in the model which represents Develop. this fourth letter in the acronym has to do with putting in place clear expectations and collaborative action plans to satisfy those expectations.

People want to know what they are expected to do. Clear expectations are motivational to people. not only that, but people want to know why the expectations are what they are.why accomplishing the expectations is important. They want to understand the importance both on a global and personal level. the why gives them the emotion behind the logic of the expectations. Put another way, a significant percentage of goals are never achieved because there is no emotion tied to the achievement of the goal. Logic alone will not drive people to perform to their best.

Then, comes the second E which represents Evaluate. this step in leading effectively has to do with where you, the organization, and its people are relative to the expectations, action plan steps and ultimate goals.

Oliver Wendall Holmes makes the point about the importance of this step better than I can in my own words. he said, even if you are on the right track, you will get run-over if you just sit there. this step is all about determining where you and/or your people are on the track to success; determining what has been done to get there; confirming what steps need to be accomplished to reach the ultimate goal; and, continuously reconfirming that appropriate action is being taken.

Assuming all the previous steps have been effectively managed and accomplished the final step in the LEADER™ model brings us to the letter R. R stands for Reward. a truly winning leader will always be willing to pause and recognize or celebrate people’s successes. Let’s face it, providing appropriate recognition for a job well done instills passion in the recipient of the recognition. With passion comes purpose; with purpose come productive performance; and, with productive performance comes profit.

Sounds like a winning proposition to me but it takes a winning LEADER™.

WASHINGTON (AP) – a federal judge has ruled that a final volume of the CIA's three-decade-old history on the failed Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba can remain shrouded in secrecy because it is a draft, not a finished product.

The CIA characterized the volume in court papers as “a polemic of recriminations against CIA officers who later criticized the operation.”

U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler accepted the CIA's arguments that the fifth volume entitled the “CIA's Internal Investigations of the Bay of Pigs Operations” did not even pass through the first stage of a multilayer review process. The volume represented a proposal by a subordinate member of the history staff that was rejected by the chief historian as containing significant deficiencies, the CIA argued.

The CIA said the volume is protected from disclosure under the deliberative process privilege, an exemption in the Freedom of Information Act.

The National Security Archive, a private group seeking transparency in government, sued the CIA to declassify the volume.

The CIA had no problem declassifying an earlier volume of the history in which the author attacked President Kennedy and Attorney General Robert Kennedy, said Peter Kornbluh, who directs the National Security Archive's Cuba documentation project.

“Apparently, the CIA sees no problem in the American public reading a 'polemic of recriminations' against the White House,” Kornbluh said.

In her decision Thursday, the judge said a draft history would risk public release of inaccurate historical information.

Kessler also cited the arguments of the CIA chief historian that disclosure would have a chilling effect on the CIA's current historians. They would henceforth be inhibited from trying out innovative, unorthodox or unpopular interpretations in a draft manuscript, the agency said.
