Suspect in Brooklyn Killings Captured After Subway Attack

A 23-year-old man suspected in the fatal stabbings of his stepfather, his girlfriend and her mother was arrested on Saturday after an attack in a Times Square subway station, law enforcement officials said.

The man, Maksim Gelman, was arrested on a No. 3 train at 40th Street and Seventh Avenue, miles away from where the rampage began in Brooklyn. the police had been searching the subway system for him, Paul J. Browne, the Police Department’s chief spokesman, said.

The police said the swirl of violence and death began in Brooklyn before dawn on Friday, when, investigators say, mr. Gelman stabbed his stepfather, his girlfriend and her mother and then ran down a pedestrian while trying to escape. the pedestrian died overnight.

On Saturday, mr. Gelman boarded a northbound No. 3 train “from the tracks,” mr. Browne said.

Service on the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 trains was halted after the arrest.

The police said the violence began about 5 a.m. Friday, when mr. Gelman argued with his stepfather, Aleksandr Kuznetsov, 54, possibly over a car, inside an apartment in Sheepshead Bay. the police said he stabbed the man and fled in the vehicle. About 4:20 p.m., he showed up at the apartment where his girlfriend and her mother lived and killed them both, according to the authorities.

mr. Gelman fled again, carjacked a Pontiac, stabbed the driver and fatally struck a pedestrian as he sped away, the police said.

Detectives seemed to be close to capturing the suspect during the night – each time a step or so behind him, the police said. they were investigating whether other instances of violence throughout the night were tied to mr. Gelman’s alleged rampage.

Then, about 9 a.m. Saturday, violence erupted on a subway train in Manhattan.

The details remained sketchy, but before 10 a.m., the police had captured mr. Gelman, and emergency medical workers rushed a victim to Bellevue Hospital Center.

Jade Duell and Owen Wilson are Having a Baby in 2011 | Being Pregnant

Owen Wilson and his girlfriend, Jade Duell, are due to have a baby in 2011. a rep for the actor told Entertainment Weekly. I have no idea who Jade Duell is, because the only things that came up when I googled her were about her being pregnant with Owen Wilson’s baby. Also, there are no apparent pictures of Jade Duell available on all of the internets except for something that looked like a facebook profile picture. So I can only assume from this that Owen Wilson is having a baby with Jade Buell, a non-famous person.

Most of the information related to this news has centered around 2 things about Owen Wilson.

1) Owen Wilson, currently starring in little Fockers, should be able to learn a thing or two about parenting from the humorous cinematic examples therein.

2) Owen Wilson is old enough to make the following joke:

“Wilson, currently starring in little Fockers, will become a father for the first time at the tender young age of 42.”

Which made me feel a little depressed.

I wonder if that nose is genetic.

Interview With Josh Blue From Last Comic Standing

  • Last week I wrote about Josh Blue’s success since he won Last Comic Standing Season 4, and this week I had the privilege of interviewing him via e-mail. in this interview, you’ll discover Josh’s plans for the New Year and more. in addition, Josh also shared a few tips for all you aspiring comedians who may be considering auditioning for Last Comic Standing.

    Without further ado, here’s the interview with Josh Blue:

    Misti: Aside from your gig at the Improv Comedy Club in West Palm, do you have any other plans for the New Year?

    Josh: I’m going to blow where the wind takes me, and hopefully that will be in the direction of fun.

    Misti: How about New Year’s resolutions for 2008: do you have any of those?

    Josh: a hundred and one. most important is to spend as much time with my lady and my baby, when he comes.

    Misti: in a blog entry on the Josh Blue Fan Site, you confirmed that your girlfriend was pregnant. Have you picked out any names for the baby yet? can you share the due date with us? By the way, congratulations!

    Josh: Aww, thanks. Yeah, we’re excited to see the little guy, too, sometime this spring. The names change every day. I like things like Thunder and Studmuffin, but I don’t think my gf’s going to go for it.

    Misti: did your fan base increase after you won Last Comic Standing?

    Josh: Hey, I sure hope so! The exposure from LCS opened up new venues for me, which has made a big difference. I’m getting to travel around the country more, and meeting more people after the shows.

    Misti: Have you ever had any hecklers? If so, what’s the funniest heckler moment you can recall?

    Josh: each one thinks he’s the funniest one yet. I like them, though, because it gives me a chance to have some fun with them. They open themselves up for comment and it’s hard to resist.

    Misti: Have you stayed in touch with any of the other comedians from Last Comic Standing Season 4?

    Josh: Yeah, and I’m still big fans of theirs. They’re all working hard out there so I try to see ‘em at some of their shows.

    Misti: Other than your debut DVD, 7 Days in the Tank, do you have any other plans for the big screen?

    Josh: Why yes, I’m so glad you asked. I have a part in a soon-to-be timeless classic known as Feast III. not one for the kiddies, but it’s a thrill.

    Misti: Who’s your favorite comedian or comedians?

    Josh: I got a bunch: Mitch Hedberg, Ellen DeGeneres, Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, love ‘em love ‘em love ‘em.

    Misti: Do you have any tips for aspiring comedians who may be considering auditioning for Last Comic Standing?

    Josh: Don’t try out in the winter in Chicago; you will freeze your face off. And do a lot of gigs beforehand to get comfortable in front of people who will make or break your career.

    James’ character and his wife ran a private school. he was having an affair with another teacher (who I believe was played by Glenda Jackson). His wife and girlfriend decide to get together and murder him. I think his wife was played by Mia Farrow. There attempt to murder him doesn’t quite go smoothly. I have been trying to find this movie for years and haven’t been able to. it was remade a number of years ago as Diabolique with Sharon Stone.
