In a Twitter post this morning, Matisyahu announced to his 1.3 million followers via several iPhone photos that he has shaved off his signature beard.

In the post, the Hasidic rapper quotes his song “Thunder,” writing “At the break of day I look for you at sunrise / When the tide comes in I lose my disguise.” and then, in a statement on his website message Matisyahu writes:

No more Chassidic reggae superstar. Sorry folks, all you get is me… no alias. When I started becoming religious 10 years ago it was a very natural and organic process. It was my choice. my journey to discover my roots and explore Jewish spirituality—not through books but through real life. At a certain point I felt the need to submit to a higher level of religiosity…to move away from my intuition and to accept an ultimate truth. I felt that in order to become a good person I needed rules—lots of them—or else I would somehow fall apart. I am reclaiming myself. Trusting my goodness and my divine mission

Get ready for an amazing year filled with music of rebirth. and for those concerned with my naked face, don’t worry…you haven’t seen the last of my facial hair.

Tether.com gets approval of their handy iPhone internet tethering app “iTetether” for sale on App Store. “iTether” is a $14.99 application that exclusively allows you to share your iPhone‘s internet connection with Mac or PC over USB, meaning now you are able to do iPhone internet tethering with your Mac or PC through an easy to install l”iTether” app. Here is a Mac version for display:

Tether is an application that allows your Mac and PC to take advantage of your smartphone’s data plan, providing you access to the Internet on your laptop anywhere there is cellular coverage from your smartphone.

Tether is easy to install, easy to use, works practically anywhere, and is very cost-effective.

To download the PC software visit:  http://tether.com/i/Tether-iPhone.exe

To download the Mac software visit:  http://tether.com/i/Tether-iPhone.dmg

As described earlier, Tether offers companion applications for the Mac and PC.

If you have both apps running on your iPhone and Mac, you can use your iPhone’s internet connection over a USB cable on your Mac too and amazingly no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth support is required.

Principally, Apple never approves such type of application for sale through its App store due to restrictions set in the agreements with carriers, but this time apple showed relaxation and approved this app- another interesting thing to note.

If you remember guys, Apple approved a similar tethering app Netshare back in 2008 but it had to wipe out that one quickly from the App Store. Since then users were paying additional fees to U.S. carriers like AT&T and Verizon for their tethering applications as an add-on service for $20/month.

It seems, the authorization of iTether on App Store is an accidental mistake by Apple and no sooner it gets realized the matter, the company would again pull “iTether” back at any moment.

However, the iTether app is presently available on App Store for $14.99 only. Notably, even if Apple pulls it from App Store, it would continue working for the purchaser of the app, just like in the case of Netshare app.

Tether just claims that Apple wouldn’t pull “iTether” back from App Store as;

”we were very clear with Apple what our app did. they asked us a bunch of questions and then approved us.”

Tether has also introduced a similar app for both BlackBerry and Android platforms.

At present, Tether’s official website is down due to massive load of visitors, that means you can’t download the Mac/PC apps. Also, any iOS app bought verifies with Tether.com on each run, so iTetether wouldn’t work until the site is comes back online.

When it comes to selling our electronics online there is no need to go haring off like a Gazelle to a site, just because its the first one you have heard of – there are now many alternatives online and if you are not careful you miss out on some great opportunities. Sites such as Gazelle offer some great advice, and possibly a good service in some areas, but what Gazelle lacks is what seems to be the way forward – dedicated sites for specific gadgets, gizmos and electronics.

Gazelle are a general electronics buyer, not a specific electronics buyer, this means if you want top prices paid when you sell your electronics Gazelle may not be the first and best choice, and it may be worth doing a little homework to find a site that specializes in whatever you are selling, whether it be a cell phone, iPhone, or laptop – Gazelle will give you a reasonable price for this, a dedicated site will give you a great price. consider this fact alone before you sell or trade online and you can benefit greatly.

Ok, so we know Gazelle are well established online, and they have a fancy looking blog with Gazelle splashed all over it, but what we dont find so often is a positive review, or a general review about Gazelle – trying to find one of these through search engines is not an easy task. For me this says Gazelle offer a standard service, where as other sites I have seen video testimonials which knock spots off of written testimonials by Joe Bloggs, so for sure Gazelle offer a service, but with seeing video testimonials I am driven to these other sites first and foremost leaving Gazelle in the background, and time and time again this proves to be the better option.

When looking over some sites to sell my electronics one thing I always look for is the layout, use and navigation of the site – Gazelle seem to have some things tucked away that make using their site not as easy as I would like, for instance, you can view Gazelles privacy policy and contact Gazelle if you have great eye sight and can see the very light colored links at the bottom of the page – for me this says that they would rather you didnt see these things, and immediately I question the service I would receive from a company like Gazelle that try to avoid some points of the trade.

Gazelle and Other Recycling Methods For Electronics

We’ve seen a really impressive, albeit polished, video look at Siri working on the iPhone 4S already but this video is a little more thorough and a lot more real life-ish. She’s still impressively smart but she’s not perfect.

When asked “What’s your name?”, she responded “My name is Siri. But you knew that already”. To “how old are you?” she (creepily) responds, “I am not allowed to answer that question.” are you going to bust Chris Hansen on me Siri! She can do funny too, when the person said “I love you” to Siri (which I’m sure she, or it, will hear a lot), she hilariously responds, “I hope you don’t say that to those other mobile phones, [NAME]“.

But she’s not perfect, her voice is verrrrry missy robota and she can’t always understand the off the wall questions, like when asked “can we be friends?” Siri responds, “sorry. I don’t udnerstand, “can we be friends”. What’s there to not understand, HMM!?

Take a look at the whole video though, beyond the silly question and answer game, Siri shows off her amazing breadth of knowledge and potential usefulness. I’m not sure I’ll ever use Siri but colour me impressed. [Apple Master Touch via MacRumors]

Many people consider the iPad a bigger version of the iPhone or iPod Touch, and admittedly there is overlap in functionality. but I don’t see Apple purposely making a product that directly competes with their iPhone and iPod cash cows. with that in mind, let’s look at where these devices will cross paths and which one has an advantage.

Convenience

Since the iPhone is you know, a phone, it will often never leave your side. it rules as a go to device when you need to get access to something right this second. the iPad’s size while svelt, won’t exactly fit in your pocket. While more convenient to drag around than say a laptop, the iPad won’t replace the iPhone as the go to device when needing to know the population of Kazastan during a conversation, or an replace an iPod when working out at the gym.

Usability

While the iPhone has greatly improved, if not reinvented, the user experience for a smart phone, the screen is only so big. I have tried using the iPhone as a ebook reader and personal video device and I can only stand the eye strain for so long. Even viewing webpages for any extended period of time can become bothersome on an iPhone or iPad Touch. the iPad’s 9.7 inch screen, nearly 4 times larger, will allow for much more pleasant extended viewing sessions. the larger screen will also allows us fat fingered types to navigate apps easier and allow developers more screen space to display data.

Cost

Compared to a $99 iPhone or a $199 iPod Touch, the $499 for the 16GB iPad may seem steep. but we must remember the the iPhone price is subsidized by At&T and requires a 2 year contract to get that price. also the $199 iPod Touch is only an 8GB model, the 32GB will cost you $299. Given Steve Job’s statement of the iPad being positioned between the iPhone and the MacBook in Apple’s product line up, we should also compare the iPad’s price to the $999 cost of an entry level MacBook. While not exactly cheap, $499 for a 16GB iPad isn’t unreasonable.

Apps

Since the iPad will run nearly all iPhone and iPod Touch apps, there will not be a lack of applications at launch time. if you already have a large library of apps in iTunes, you will be able to use these on an iPad without repurchasing. the iBook Store and iBook app will be limited to the iPad, and as developers come on board, exclusive iPad only apps will begin to appear. the price premium for an iPad optimized app is still unknown, but I would not be surprised to see an average price of $4.99.

Final Thoughts

Will the iPad cannibalize sales of other Apple products? For those who do not currently own an iPod Touch, or don’t/can’t get an iPhone, investing instead in an iPad could be a logical move. but since you won’t be jogging with your iPad to listen to music, or answering phone calls with it, I don’t see sales of iPhones and iPods being affected much. I will be very curious to see the numbers on people who bought an iPad and also own an iPhone or iPod Touch versus those that don’t.

Unlocked iPhone 4S on the way

by on October 7, 2011

With all of the news coming out of Apple this week – an upgraded iPhone and co-founder Steve Jobs’ passing – one announcement that hasn’t received much attention is that Apple will provide an unlocked iPhone 4S in November.

Pre-orders for the 4S began Friday at AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint, the latest entrant to the battle for iPhone subscribers.

The availability of  an unlocked 4S will be welcomed news to many smartphone enthusiasts who want the phone but don’t want to be tied to a contract with either of the providers.

According to CNET, the unlocked phones will start at $649 for a 16 gigabyte phone, $749 for a 32 GB and $849 for a 64 GB phone.

The unlocked iPhone 4S will allow a user to install  SIM cards from another provider as long as it’s a GSM-supported network and allow users to install some third-party software.

The unlocked iPhone will also accommodate micro-SIM cards from a local GSM carrier overseas. Verizon’s and Sprint’s CDMA networks won’t support the unlocked iPhone, but AT&T and T-Mobile, to some extent, would because they use the GSM network.

Pre-orders for the unlocked iPhone 4S are being taken in the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

In June, Apple began offering an unlocked iPhone 4.

By the way, CNET also warns consumers to be on the alert for fake iPhones being sold online amid all the hoopla.

Restrict iCloud devices?

by on August 2, 2011

I'm exited about Apple's new iCloud, however, I don't want ALL of our devices having the same information. For instance, if I take a picture on my iPhone, I don't want it sent to my Mother Father and Sisters iPhones! How will this work? can I choose which devices will use iCloud? thanks in advance!

Simply turn it off but they won't be able to use it which defeats the purpose. if you go into settings you can switch it off. it turns on by default but I see what your saying.

Restrict iCloud devices?

I just read that Apple is going to unveil the new generation of their mobile operating system, iOS 5, on Monday (June 6). What improvements/entirely new features do you hope to see?

I hope to see:

– Boot Camp which like on the Macs, you could load another operating system and get the best of both worlds. On the iPhone, you could possibly how run another mobile OS such as Google Android.
– Flash player support in Safari web browser (Don't get me started saying how HTML 5 is the future, it's just another web standard in my opinion, plus some websites will never change away from flash anyway)

Can't think of anything else but those.

iOS will be released at WWDC, Apple has done significant improvements in the function on iOS 5.iOS 5's release is an important significance thing for the world.Do you want to download iOS 5? here have an article for you to refer.

I'm still waiting for the unlock to use on my iPhone 4. I have version 4.2.1 and apparently they decided to skip that version to unlock (my luck). I also have baseband 3.10.01. Thanks alot!!

it will come out soon the next month.

I unlocked my I-Phone 4 Remotely from Brazil Vivo Network at here
