Despite being one of the core players for the Dodgers, Loney is one of those guys who is more or less playing for his job and a new contract.

The glove work on defense has always been there, but the power that was expected to develop on Loney’s frame has never appeared.

His 65 runs batted in last season were his lowest total in the last five years and a good example of the power deficiency.

With inconsistent performance and low power numbers for a corner infielder, it’s not a given that the Dodgers will re-sign Loney. But it is likely, since L.A has no other proven options to put at first base, and he will probably end up costing relatively little for a player of his talent level.

That being said, Loney has one last chance to squeeze a multi-year contract out of the Dodgers.

After being released and then re-signed by the Indians, it is apparent that Grady Sizemore is on a short leash in Cleveland.

The talented outfielder’s once quickly rising career has been derailed by perennial injuries, and teams that otherwise would’ve taken a chance on him were scared off.

One of the last true five-tool players before he got hurt, it’s likely that Sizemore would have achieved 40 home runs and 40 steals if he had stayed healthy, having already reached the 30-30 milestone.

But with significant injuries the last four years, he is lucky that the Indians were willing to take him back.

Anything approaching his first few years in the league would be a boon for Grady. If he can stay healthy and perform, it would probably be enough for at least a two- or three-year deal, and more importantly, save his career.

B.J. Upton has been continually linked to trade rumors the last several years, and that probably will not change this season.

Although .243 is a low average for a player of Upton’s caliber, 2011 was a good year for him.

Strong power numbers and 36 stolen bases went a good ways to demonstrating the potential that Upton has, and that younger brother Justin has been showcasing.

The character concerns about lack of hustle are still present, but it would seem that B.J. is maturing, and with Desmond Jennings ready to take over in center field, Upton would do well to impress in 2012, increasing his stock for a multi-year contract in free agency or a potential trade.

The former White Sox slugger is headed to a year full of deflating power numbers as he moves to cavernous Petco Park.

Combine the change in scenery with a relative lack of protection in the lineup besides fellow newcomer Yonder Alonso, and you can see why Quentin is perhaps the guy most in need of a contract year before he starts to languish away in San Diego.

Petco is a notoriously pitcher-oriented park, but the saving grace for the 29-year-old Quentin may be that he is a right-handed hitter with power to left, shown by the fact that all of the home runs he hit last year in Chicago were to left field.

Quentin is looking for one last lengthy contract before his power starts to go downhill, but San Diego is the worst place he could have started looking.

We could see a contract to rival those of Pujols and Fielder when Josh Hamilton becomes eligible for free agency next offseason.

We could also see a similarity develop between Pujols and Hamilton in terms of their contract situations.

The Texas slugger has said that he will discuss an extension right up to spring training, and this could create difficulties for the Rangers, as they envision a much more conservative deal than Hamilton’s camp is said to believe in.

I could see this playing out just like the Pujols situation, with Josh leaving Texas to go to the highest bidder.

Despite the injuries and addiction problems, Hamilton has been a premier player his whole career, and his stat line each season only adds weight to that.

There is no doubt that he will be a $100-million man with his next contract, but a full, healthy year played with comparable stats to last year could push his price closer to $200 million.

Andre Ethier isn’t in the best of situations.

With the McCourt bankruptcy and divorce fiasco and the team in the process of being sold, there isn’t a lot of money to go around.

A knee injury, poor second-half performance and what amounts to career lows in home runs and RBI don’t help Ethier’s case in aiming for a new contract with L.A .

Whoever becomes the new owner of the Dodgers will probably be throwing ample amounts of money around, and Ethier, along with James Loney, are playing for their continued stays in Los Angeles.

Ethier has a long way to rebound after last season, notably hitting only .220 against left-handed pitching.

It’s shocking that after all the years he has been with the Giants, all the games with no run support and win-worthy gems tossed out the window, Matt Cain wants to come back!

There is a good chance that the Giants will be able to get Cain on a long-term deal and for less than $20 million a year.

It would be wise to lock up the workhorse of a top rotation, especially when Lincecum seems to want to test the waters of free agency.

On the other hand, if Cain were to hit the market, it’s expected that he would get much more than the $77.5 million contract of C.J Wilson.

Cain has received Cy Young votes in previous years. an improvement to 15 wins total, which is significant considering the state of the San Francisco offense in the past, would make a big payday virtually assured, regardless of whether Cain chooses an extension or free agency.

With the Mets in the middle of a historic salary dump and financial disaster like the Dodgers, David Wright has been a hot name mentioned as the next to leave new York.

It remains to be seen whether the club will pick up Wright’s option for 2013, but the signs point to him being a Met for the foreseeable future.

After an injury-plagued season and with the Mets in a fire sale, Wright’s value is at an all-time low.

Teams don’t want to give anything for him in a trade, despite five seasons of 25-plus HR and 100-plus RBI.

New York wants to keep Wright, and he wants to stay in new York. If Wright can produce anywhere near his ’06-’08 levels, he will reestablish himself as one of the premier third basemen in the game and prove worthy of a $100 million contract

Aybar already had a career year in 2011, but he may need something similar this season.

His job status may be up in the air with the rise of Jean Segura through the Angels’ minor league system.

The value is there—the fifth-year shortstop posted career highs in home runs, runs batted in and stolen bases, and he continued a career trend of great contact hitting.

And the addition of Albert Pujols will make the entire lineup better. Up-and-down production throughout Aybar’s time in the majors is a significant concern, however, and an encore of his 2011 performance would be just the thing needed to lock up an extension and a starting job.

Punxsutawney Phil has his work cut out for him these days. in a year of extreme weather events and a mild Northeast winter, the groundhog could be forgiven if he got a little confused this year.

Groundhog Day is back, and Phil will emerge from his burrow at 7:25 a.m. on Thursday to make his prediction for the remainder of winter. just before sunrise at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Penn., an expected crowd of 10,000 groundhog enthusiasts will gather to watch the rodent.

According to American folklore, if the weather is sunny when Phil emerges from his burrow, he will see his shadow and snuggle back into his burrow, indicating that winter will continue for six more weeks. But if the weather is cloudy, the groundhog will leave the burrow, signifying the arrival of an early spring.

Since taking on his job, Phil has seen his shadow 98 times and has not seen it just 16 times, including last year, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club.

Last year, inclement weather kept the crowd numbers low, with about 5,000 joining the festivities. “They were not the largest crowd, but they were the heartiest and most enthusiastic. this was a group of hardcore dedicated fans of Phil,” said Mike Johnston, vice president of the Inner Circle of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, on Groundhog Day in 2011.

A week of festivities surrounds the main event, with firecrackers, food, and local entertainment from Jan. 28 through Feb. 4. The Salvation Army puts on an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Thursday.

The celebration of Groundhog Day started with Pennsylvania’s earliest settlers in the 1800s. The first official weather prediction at the Gobbler’s Knob was made by Phil on Feb. 2, 1887, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club.

Whatever Phil predicts, some new Yorkers have been wary of the unseasonably warm temperatures this winter.

Samantha Roldan, a jewelry assembler from Queens, said the warmer weather worries her. “It’s not supposed to be this warm, and it hasn’t even snowed yet. It’s pretty unpredictable—really peculiar,” she said. “I don’t trust it. I think it means something bad. I mean it’s wonderful, I love it, but to be honest, it just doesn’t feel right.”

Lucinda Lin from Brooklyn predicts it will get colder in February. Let’s see if Punxsutawney Phil agrees on Thursday morning.

JACKSONVILLE — in the second half of Friday's District 14-4A game between Jacksonville and John Tyler at the JHS Gymnasium, the Fightin' Maidens couldn't hit the water if they fell out of a boat, as the old saying goes. in a game that was locked up at 15 at intermission, the Lady Lions took advantage of Jacksonville's shooting miseries by outscoring the Maidens 29-18 in the second half, eventually claiming a 44-33 victory. The Maidens connected on just 17.9-percent (5-of-28) of their shots in the final 16 minutes of action, while John Tyler did considerably better, hitting 10-of-21 (47.6-percent) from the field. “I thought we did a great job in the first half, but in the second half, we just didn't think and our mind wasn't in the game,” Jacksonville head coach, Allan Pope, said. “we took horrible shots and we didn't make them. “When you shoot the ball like that you are not going to win and that is a recipe for failure.” With Jacksonville in front, 15-10, the Lady Lions (18-8, 7-2 in District 14-4A) closed the first half on a 5-0 run to tie things up. they opened the second half with another 5-0 spurt that took just 44 seconds and forced the Maidens (15-13, 4-5) to get in catch-up mode early. John Tyler went up by 11 points with 1:41 to go in the third, but a trey from Chancii Scott from the top of the key with .1 second left in the stanza enabled Jacksonville to close the gap to 29-21 going into the fourth period. A Moncia Franklin bucket 15 seconds into the final quarter, cut the margin to six, 29-23, but it was all Lady Lions from that point on. Latifah Rainey ignited the Lady Lions, who also won the first meeting between the two teams, 46-36, on Dec. 16, by scoring 17 points (all of which came in the second half) and by pulling down 19 rebounds, both game highs. Tiaka Lee added 11 points for John Tyler. Keevie Mathis finished with 12 points to lead the Maidens, while Chancii Scott pitched in nine, while coming up with a team-best 11 rebounds. while the Maidens, who entered the night tied with Hallsville for fourth place in the conference standings, did not gain any ground in the standings, Pope said the loss did not hurt his team either. “This loss doesn’t kill us,” he said. “A win would have been fantastic and a sweet one to have if we had been good enough to go get it. we have to take care of business against the teams that are below us in the standings. One of those squads that are south of the Maidens in the standings is Whitehouse. Jacksonville hosts the Ladycats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Here’s a newsflash – unemployment remains a concern.

In Arkansas, the unemployment rate was 8.2 percent in November – that’s down from 9.3 percent, but is still high for Arkansas. What that number means is that 106,500 people in the Natural State want jobs but don’t have them. That’s a large number, roughly equal to the population of Saline County.

That’s a major problem for the economy for the economy for a number of reasons, but we’ll just deal with one since this column focuses on real estate issues – how can people who are unemployed make their mortgage payments? It’s clear that one of the things slowing down homes sales is the persistently high mortgage rate, but a more basic problem has to do with people who have homes and were meeting their obligations well enough until they lost their jobs.

Freddie Mac – the mortgage giant and government sponsored entity – has come up with its answer to that question. Starting on Feb. 1, Freddie Mac will make it possible for unemployed homeowners to apply for short-term and long-term forebearance programs.

The short-term program makes allowances for six months for people who are unemployed. If borrowers don’t have a job after six months, then a separate, extended forebearance program may be available.

Bear in mind the programs are available to all mortgage servicers dealing with mortgages backed by Freddie Mac. It’s hard to tell on a loan’s surface whether Freddie Mac backs it, but there’s a good chance your residential mortgage is covered by the entity.

To find out for sure if your mortgage is backed by Freddie Mac, go to FreddieMac.com, click the About Freddie Mac tab at the top of the page and then click on the FAQs (frequently asked questions) link. from there, you’ll be led to a page where you can type in your mortgage information and find out for yourself if Freddie Mac backs it or not.

If it is backed by Freddie Mac, then it’s time to get in touch with your mortgage servicer – the company to which you pay your loan – and see if you are eligible to participate in a forebearance program. The guidelines established by Freddie Mac are pretty well uniform and established a set of criteria which servicers are directed to follow.

Of course, the federal government and related entities have tried for a few years now to help home owners struggling to meet their payments. those programs have met with limited success. however, it is encouraging to see continuing attempts to bring meaningful help to Americans in need of it.

It can be difficult, however, to keep up with those programs as new ones are announced regularly and it seems we’re always hearing about people tinkering with programs in place. to step through that maze and see what programs are out there and which ones might help, it’s a good idea to put in a call to your local mortgage banker. they keep up with various policies floating around out there and are willing to steer borrowers toward the programs that could work best for them.

UPDATE: a spokesman for the family has denied the report of Joe Paterno’s death. The spokesman said that the rumors are “absolutely not true.” Paterno’s son, Jay, also sent out a tweet, saying: “Reports are wrong – Dad is alive but in serious condition. We continue to ask for your prayers and privacy during this time.”

UPDATE: Paterno has passed away. his family has released an official statement, saying “it is with great sadness that we announce that Joe Paterno passed away earlier today. his loss leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled.”

Original story continues below:

Former Penn State coach Joe Paterno has passed away at the age of 85. The former coach of the Nittany Lions, who won a record 409 games, died tonight after a long battle with lung cancer.

Paterno revealed to the public on November 18th that he was suffering from lung cancer. Nine days later he lost his job at Penn State due to the sexual abuse charges brought against his former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.

A spokesman for Paterno told ESPN yesterday:

“Over the last few days Joe Paterno has experienced further health complications. his doctors have now characterized his status as serious. his family will have no comment on the situation and asks that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

Paterno scored 409 wins (the most in NCAA history) during his 46 seasons with Penn State. he brought the Nittany Lions to 37 bowl games (most in NCAA history) and won 24 bowl games (most in NCAA history). but Paterno’s legacy has been tarnished in the last few months.

Sandusky is now being charged with 52 counts of child molestation and many people have criticized Paterno for not going directly to the police after he was made aware of the situation. after the sex scandal broke, Paterno said:

“(This is) one of the great sorrows of my life. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more.”

In an interview with the Washington Post, Paterno added:

“I didn’t know exactly how to handle it and I was afraid to do something that might jeopardize what the university procedure was… so I backed away and turned it over to some other people, people I thought would have a little more expertise than I did. it didn’t work out that way.”

Paterno is survived by his wife, Sue, and their five children.

How do you think Joe Paterno will be remembered?

The Tampa Bay Rays’ 2009 season was a disappointment after their 2008 World Series run. the Devil Rays frequently upset higher-profile teams above them in the standings, but injuries and inconsistent pitching kept them from competing for the AL East crown.

Tampa Bay added Rafael Soriano in the off-season, but the team is primarily relying on the continued improvement of their many young players.

Their offense will be led by Dioner Navarro and Pat Burrell who will both look to improve after disappointing seasons last year. Carlos Pena and Evan Longoria will make opposing defenses uncomfortable with their speed distracting the pitcher while forcing the defense in to errors.

The Rays have a stable of young pitchers with tons of potential, but some of them will need to step up to compete with the league’s elite. their pitchers could improve enough this year to give them a top-level rotation. But they are realistically two-three years away from greatness.

Manager Joe Maddon is one of the best in the league and he has done a great job of keeping the whole team on the same page. He has the respect of his players and that goes a long way to molding a quality team.

Predicting how the Rays finish is a challenge. They are a decent-to-good team with the potential to be great. They will probably not make the playoffs, but they could win it all.

Expect them to fall just short of 90 wins. which will not be enough in the competitive AL East.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts’ sudden crash has cost coach Jim Caldwell his job.

The team fired Caldwell on Tuesday, the second major decision in what is expected to be a long offseason shake-up. Team owner Jim Irsay fired team vice chairman Bill Polian and his son, Chris, the team’s general manager, the day after the season ended.

It took a little longer for the decision on Caldwell, who had just finished his third and worst season as head coach of the Colts, who stumbled to a 2-14 finish without injured quarterback Peyton Manning. Caldwell ends his Colts’ tenure 26-22 overall.

“This was a difficult decision,” Irsay said. “I wanted to make sure we took all the time we needed to make sure it was the right decision. … and just like 14 years, ago, it’s a big change for the franchise and at the same time, there’s players, coaches, many people on the staff that will go into the new day and get on with the work of 2012.”

Back in 1998, the Colts brought in Manning, Bill Polian and coach Jim Mora. The team got better fast and, though Mora was gone after the 2001 season, the franchise became one of the best in the league.

And it is now headed in a different direction, even if Manning comes back as expected from Sept. 8 neck surgery.

Caldwell — who won his first 14 games, an NFL record for a rookie head coach, and became only the fifth first-year coach to take his team to the Super Bowl — won’t be there when the Colts resume practice. with fans complaining about game management and clamoring for a change since midseason, Irsay didn’t have much choice.

With Manning, the Colts won a league-record 115 regular-season games over the previous decade, tying the league mark for most consecutive playoff appearances (nine), winning two AFC titles and one Super Bowl trophy, the Colts lost their first 13 games in 2011, then won twice in five days and nearly lost the no. 1 draft pick, too.

Without Manning, Indy started 0-8 and was the heavy favorite to win the Andrew Luck sweepstakes at midseason. Caldwell’s team lost the next five games, too, before finally winning two straight to avoid becoming the second 0-16 team in league history.

A season-ending loss at Jacksonville, officially gave the Colts the top pick, which is expected to be used on Luck.

Players never gave up on Caldwell and many cited their preference to keep playing for him next season. Manning was one of Caldwell’s supporters, calling the coach that helped him win a record-setting four MVP Awards a “friend.”

But the disastrous 2011 season was too much for Caldwell to overcome after winning AFC South titles in each of his first two seasons in Indy.

After overhauling the front office, Irsay last week hired 39-year-old Ryan Grigson as his new general manager, then wanted to wait until Grigson had time to evaluate Caldwell’s performance.

The decision came Tuesday, setting off the second major search of the month.

“Change sometimes isn’t always the easiest transition to make but it’s part of this game, part of this league and part of the direction we need to get going in this new era of Colts football,” Grigson said.

We all have been happy and sad at some point in our life but it’s important to realize the difference between mood changes that are normal and those that are extreme. The list of disorders is a lengthy one, with depression ranking as one of the most common. I’m sure you’ve heard more than once someone saying that they are depressed, and usually what they are describing are their current emotions, not necessarily depression as defined from a clinical standpoint. Sadness, anxiety and any other negative emotion can cause a person to enter a depressed state. Such feelings are most likely followed after a traumatic event such as death in the family, the end of a relationship and/or the loss of a job. Although it is only normal to feel sadness after a painful event, gradually and over time those feelings work themselves out, and mood stability is restored; unfortunately, that is just not the case for everyone. Depression comes in several forms and DSM-IV-TR (diagnostic manual) recognizes two categories: Major depression and dysthymic disorder.

Depression is a very sad state to be in, not only because you feel constantly sad but also because everything around you falls apart. Relationships get destroyed, families fall apart and the world is constantly moving but you are stuck in one place unable to do anything but sit and wonder what’s next. The inability to function normally and the frustration inside leads many people to have suicidal thoughts which many peruse. One of my close friends got out of a relationship with her boyfriend of 2 years and she became every depressed. She had difficulty sleeping, ate every little, lost interest in everything around her, lost her job and ended up taking pills to try and catch some sleep. after a year she was finally able to get her life on track and catch up with the rest of the world. If you feel depressed and unable to function after a very sad event, that’s only normal but if your depression last more than 3 months that when action should be taken.

Major depression VS Dysthymic disorder

Many people wonder how psychologist determine whether or not we are depressed and if so how severely; let’s begin by further explaining major depression.

The diagnosis for major depression requires that the individual experiences either depressed mood or loss of interest in daily activities, work, friendships, relationships; in other word struggling every day in easy to do activities. also, aside from the above listed, the individual must experience at least four other symptoms of depression. in order to be qualified as legitimate symptoms, they have to be severe enough to interfere with the person’s ability to function in everyday life. Dysthymic disorder is a less severe form of depression, the only difference being it is also chronic.to be diagnosed with dysthymic disorder an individual has to experience at least two other symptoms of depression, while at the same time experiencing a depressed mood. as I mentioned before, dysthymic disorder is chronic, and because of that, in order to be diagnosed you must experience the aforementioned symptoms for at least two years. during these two years the person must have ongoing symptoms of depression, and never have been without them for more than two months. an interesting case arises when both disorders are diagnosed in the same patient at the same time. Although the individual will be in the dysthymic mood most of the time, they will also have times when they fall into a major depression. However, even if the major depression episodes will eventually fade away, the individual will still continue to have mild depression, which falls into the category of dysthymic.moreover, the individual will never return into a normal/stable state of mood.

Symptoms of major depression and dysmthymic disorder

  1. Feeling intense hopelessness
  2. Low self esteem
  3. Worthlessness
  4. Extreme fatigue
  5. Dramatic changes in sleeping and eating
  6. Loss of interest
  7. Suicidal thoughts

Gender and Depression

According to Twenge & Nolen-Heksema 2002, the rates of depression in girls escalates dramatically over the course of puberty, while those of boys do not. It should come as no surprise that girls are more prone to depression than boys. during the adolescence years, girls more than boys are becoming aware of their body. of course, the most obvious role models girls look up to are those representing the fashion industry. Girls will do anything to look just like their favorite super model. this is what leads thirteen year old girls to significantly higher levels of depression than boys. as I mentioned in my previews blog post The Veil of Modeling The flawless skin, the perfect hair, the bright white smile and the rosy lips make us envy them as we tried so hard to be just like them. When we hit our teenage years, as we become more aware of our body we start to dislike what we see on us, because we look quite different from that prefect girl featured on those ad’s and posters. Body dissatisfaction and appearance is closely related to low self esteem, which make depression more likely to surface. When it comes to boys, they don’t usually pay as much attention to their physical traits as girls do. in fact, boys tend to like the changes their bodies undergo, as they favor the increase in muscle mass and the associated pubertal changes.

The science

Communication system is essential to all of the brain’s functions as the neurons are communicating with each other by exchanging neurotransmitters. Depression is characterized by the imbalance between the three neurotransmitters dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine. Serotonin and norepinephrine regulate many important physiological functions such as mood, sleep, eating, and sexual behavior; once this chemicals are decreased than people are prone to depression. When the serotonin molecules are released to the synaptic junction for the other neuron to receive the message, many of them get destroyed in the synaptic junction because the other neuron doesn’t absorb message sent by the other neuron. Due to the lack of passing on the message to the other neurons, the emotion will be lost.

Getting better.

There are two major types of therapy, biochemical and psychological. Biochemical treatments involve drugs that will help stabilize the neurotransmitter imbalance, primarily with serotonin and norepinephrine activity. Antidepressants are the most common medication used to treat depression as they help ease these imbalances. Psychological therapy involves psychoanalysis, or what we call today the talk therapies. The licensed psychologist has sessions with the person who suffers from the disorder as they discuss the problem and the ways of overcoming it. Use of biochemical and psychological treatments have proven to be more effective when combined together. The patient takes medication to restore the chemical balance in their brain, all while seeing a therapist at the same time, to talk things out so the patient is not overwhelmed with different emotions and the mind equilibrium is kept.

No matter what happens in tonight’s game against the Patriots, Tim Tebow’s Denver Broncos have given us something special this season. when Tebow took the starting job, the Broncos were in football purgatory. at 1-4, the Broncos organization had all but written-off the 2011 season to begin planning on how to rebuild for 2012. Tebow was given the starter job, but no one really expected him to do anything with it. the owners were placating the fans and using Tebow as a placeholder until the Broncos could find a franchise quarterback for next season. at least that was the conventional wisdom.

But Tebow wasn’t in to conventional wisdom, much less into losing. he went on to lead the Broncos to seven more wins and to secure a place for them in the playoffs. Tebow led his team to victory often in spectacular fashion, in amazing and improbable fourth quarter comebacks that we hardly ever see in the NFL. In spite of the fact that he does not have the passing skills of a prototypical NFL quarterback, Tebow believed. he led his team to believe. And they won game after game.

After three disappointing losses at the end of the regular season, it looked like the Tebow magic had finally burned out. no one expected the Broncos to be a match in the first playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the defending AFC champions. It was win or go home, and John Elway told Tebow before the game to “pull the trigger.” And pull the trigger he did. Tebow completed 10 passes for 316 yards. And the guy who would “never make it in the NFL because of his poor passing” won his first playoff game in the first play of overtime with an 80 yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas.

Tim Tebow is a great leader, and he is a devout evangelical Christian. his faithfulness off the field has been as impressive as his determination on the field, and it is what has made him America’s quarterback. I haven’t had this much fun pulling for a professional team since Roger Staubach was playing for the Dallas Cowboys. this is a special year to be a fan thanks to Tim Tebow.

What do I think will happen in tonight’s game? Can the Broncos win? yes. do I think it is likely that they will win? no. If I were a betting man, I would have my money on the Patriots. I don’t think Denver has the secondary to hold Brady under 40 points. but that won’t keep me from pulling for the Broncos. nor does it really matter what I think anyway. Tebow and the Broncos have already shown that they know how to demolish conventional wisdom. I would love it for them to prove us all wrong once again.

P.S. For my whole life, I have loved NFL films. the historic footage, the grave narration, the sideline chatter, the tell-tale slow-motion playbacks, and that music. I love all of it. NFL films has already produced a short on the Bronco’s improbable victory over the Steelers last Sunday. Don’t miss this one. you can watch it here.

P.P.S. Here’s the scripture Tebow posted on his Twitter account before today’s game:

Romans 8:37-39 but in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
