“We can’t talk about the casting yet, but I’d love to see some of the fan favorites from the past seasons come back,” ABC’s entertainment president Paul Lee told reporters. “We’ve had many favorites over the 14 seasons that we’ve got. We’re casting now, and I hope we come in with a really interesting cast of people who our audience is passionate about.”

Mario Lopez reportedly hinted at a possible “all-star” show while co-hosting “Live with Kelly!”

Tell us: which former cast members would you like to see return?

Despite my years of experience in buying and recommending gifts, let me be the first to admit that it is difficult sometimes to find just the right gift for my mother, especially for Mother’s Day.

While every holiday or special occasion is important to different people, for different ways and reasons, Mother’s Day is really special to me and to most of us. this is the day that celebrates the woman who gave birth to you, – she gave you life, and on Mother’s Day we all feel the need to show how much our mothers are loved and appreciated.

The problem with trying to find just the right gift is often because our mothers already seem to have everything they need. from a well-equipped kitchen to a well-equipped sewing room, what can you possibly bring to her that she will really love, – what special gift can you give her to show her your love and appreciation for all the things she has done for you?

Time to Think Outside the Box

What about replacing some of those things that she already has with newer models?

Remember, it is very likely that a great deal of her kitchen equipment came into her possession as wedding or wedding shower gifts.

Does she have one of those manual pasta makers? consider replacing it with one of the new, electric models. There are a number of good-quality ones on the market that can turn out three pounds of pasta in less than twenty minutes.

Does she make her own bread, or has she ever said she would like to try it? what about a bread machine? There is something wonderful about the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the house that makes everyone feel good, and the bread machine removes the hardest and trickiest part of making your own bread or buns, – the kneading of the dough.

As we grow older, we (women in particular) often lack calcium, which makes our bones brittle. While I know that calcium supplements can be helpful, why not consider giving her something that would encourage her to take in more calcium in a natural and enjoyable way, – like an ice cream maker?

These wonderful appliances can make ice cream, frozen yogurt, or sorbet in as little as 25 minutes, and the results are so tasty that you will not have to worry that your mother’s intake of calcium is too low. as an added plus, your children will have even more reason to want to visit Grandma.

Depending upon how self-sufficient your mother likes to be, maybe she would really appreciate a food grinder that would allow her to grind small quantities of grain for her own use.

While neither I nor my mother personally grow our own grain, we have often gone to Natural Food stores and bought small bags of specialty-type grains, the kind you cannot find in your regular supermarket. you can buy them at a reasonable price, but you have to grind it yourself. it is very healthy, and the taste of these grains, when added to something as simple as a coffee cake, is mouth-watering.

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas – Let’s Think Outside the Box

April 19, 2012 03:12:18 GMT Having learned that Helm is ‘in the final stages of his battle with cancer’, Robertson writes on his Facebook that he is ‘so grateful’ he got the chance to see his Band mate for one last time.

After it was announced that Levon Helm is losing his battle with cancer, words of support and love have come rushing in. one of them came from the drummer’s former mate in the Band, Robbie Robertson, as he took to his Facebook account on Wednesday, April 18 to express his sadness. “Last week I was shocked and so saddened to hear that my old band mate, Levon, was in the final stages of his battle with cancer,” the 68-year-old guitarist wrote. “It hit me really hard because I thought he had beaten throat cancer and had no idea that he was this ill. I spoke with his family and made arrangements to go and see him.” “On Sunday [April 15] I went to new York and visited him in the hospital,” he continued on recalling his recent visit. “I sat with Levon for a good while, and thought of the incredible and beautiful times we had together. it was heartwarming to be greeted by his lovely daughter Amy, whom I have known since she was born.” “Amy’s mother, Libby Titus, and her husband, Donald Fagen, were so kind to help walk me through this terrible time of sadness. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Sandy,” he stated before concluding, “Levon is one of the most extraordinary talented people I

March 17, 2012 7:00 a.m. SHARON — you can’t win them all. however, if you happen to be this year’s General McLane boys basketball team, you can come awful darn close. The Lancers’ undefeated season came to an end just a couple games short of the state final, losing to Montour 48-38 in the PIAA Class AAA quarters on Friday at Sharon High School. “Sometimes, you don’t like to, but in sports sometimes you’ve got to tip your hat,” said General McLane coach Andy Schulz. “you know, (Montour) is a heck of a good team.” The Lancers end the campaign at 26-1. “We’ve had a great, great season,” said Schulz, “far beyond the expectations of anyone, including myself. “But I think they’ve learned that excellence at McLane is demanded, from their brothers and their neighbors and from former players. And I told them, ‘You’ve met that. You’ve met that high standard and more. So be proud of that, and pat yourselves on the back, and love each other, and move on.’” Montour (23-4) now moves on to Tuesday’s state semifinal round. The Spartans will take on Hampton, which trimmed Archbishop Carroll last night 45-44. A location and time for the game will be announced later. A couple weeks ago, Hampton defeated Montour 52-42 in the WPIAL semifinals. last night’s win was Montour’s second straight over a once undefeated team. on Tuesday, the Spartans ended new Castle’s perfect season 50-43 in overtime. “The players might be getting used to this, but I’m not,” said Montour head coach Adam Kaufman, who is a former Edinboro University basketball player. “(McLane) is a very good team. They play very hard. … It’s a program we respect. And we knew it was going to be a tough one coming in.” it was a fairly tight contest in the first quarter, which Montour won 10-7 after the Spartans’ Kevin Scuilli knocked down a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 1:15 to go. While the score stayed close, the challenges posed by Montour’s defense were already starting to show. McLane was just 1-for-8 from the field in the first quarter. “I was worried about that, because we’re not a very good shooting team,” said Schulz. Those challenges bloomed fully in the second quarter. Jaymon Mason hit a pull-up jumper to start the frame, cutting the Spartans’ lead to 10-9. But then Montour erupted for a 13-point scoring run to take a 23-9 lead. that run was keyed by the Spartans’ defense, which worked hard to keep the Lancers out of the paint. McLane could either take a shot from outside or try to force it in. But when the Lancers forced it in, they turned it over, either getting it batted away or getting whistled for a charge. So, McLane ended the frame with eight turnovers. “that was one of the things we wanted to focus on was cutting down (McLane’s) dribble penetration,” said Kaufman. Montour went into the half on top 25-13. McLane was just 3-for-18 from the floor in the first half. Montour was 10-for-21. Montour’s offensive leader in the first half was senior guard Tyler Haas, who scored 12 points. Haas had subbed in for forward Ryan Lewis, who got into some early foul trouble. however, Haas and Lewis are both 6-foot-5, so Montour didn’t lose any physical presence due to the substitution. “when we pulled Ryan out … we basically had five guards on the floor,” said Kaufman. “They may not look like guards because they’re so tall. So, McLane’s big men had to come out and guard somebody. Tyler did a good job of taking advantage, getting some dribble penetration and getting to the hoop.” Montour’s height — the Spartans’ point guard, Devin Wilson, is also 6-4 — was a factor all night long. “(McLane) has shorter guards,” said Kaufman. “Our guards are 6-4. So, even if they’re coming up and pressuring someone, Devin can kind of stand there and see over top of everyone. And you can’t really deny him the ball, because he’s going to go up in the air and get it.” In the third quarter, McLane went to the full court press to try and bring Montour back to earth. And, for the most part it worked. after some back-and-forth to start the frame, McLane embarked on a nine-point run to make pull within four points (30-26) of the Spartans. Mason scored all nine of McLane’s points in the run, had 11 for the quarter, and would finish the game with a team-best 24 points. “we had to stop them in transition,” said Kaufman. “when they get out and run, their guards, especially Mason, are very good at creating. The third quarter he got off a little bit in transition. other than that stretch, I thought we did a good job of it.” however, McLane couldn’t keep the press on all night. And soon enough, Montour started scoring again. “We’re limited with how many guys we can play,” said Schulz. “So we don’t want to press all the time, especially because (Montour) handles the ball so well. But we had to get after it. we had to try a zone press and a man press, extend the court. But I think we exhausted ourselves doing in. But that was the only shot we had, and we got back in the game doing it.” Scuilli ended McLane’s run with a 3-pointer with 1:36 to go to make it a 33-26 game. Then he started the fourth quarter with another triple, pushing the Spartans back out to a 10-point lead (36-26). Scuilli was 4-for-7 from the arc in the game, scoring 12 points. “Kevin, that’s what he does, he shoots the ball,” said Kaufman. “he has 82 3s this year. when he gets opportunities, he usually knocks them down.” McLane didn’t have enough left in the tank in the fourth for another comeback. Lewis started finding some room inside, scoring six of his eight points in the fourth. And point guard Devin Wilson went 4-for-5 from the free throw line in the final frame to finish the night with 10 points. “They controlled the tempo of the game the whole fourth quarter,” said Schulz. “we were trying, but we couldn’t get over the hump.” after Mason, McLane’s next highest scorer was forward Quinn Thompson with eight points. McLane won the rebound battle handily, 27-17. Plus, the Lancers were 11-for-11 from the free throw line. however, from the floor the Lancers were just 12-for-42 (28.6 percent) for the game. “if we struggled anywhere it was shooting,” said Schulz. “And we did a little bit (Friday). Credit goes to Montour. They’re a quality team and I thought they played excellent. But that didn’t take away from my kids’ hustle. They still hustled. They played as hard as they could.”

According to Rose, Khalifa is “just the sweetest guy. He’s very normal. he didn’t let the fame and everything get to him.” The two have been dating for “over a year.”

Prior to her relationship with Khalifa, Rose was linked to Kanye West, 34.

NORMAL–They’ve got 19 kids and would gladly have more.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, parents on the Learning Channel’s hit show “19 Kids and Counting” are sharing their message about the importance of family at this year’s national conference for women called “Hearts at Home.”

Several like Angie Whiteman are trying to figure out the secret to building a happy, healthy home when life seems to get in the way.

“They say patience is a number one.  But how in your daily life when you’re exhausted?  your kid just puked, somebody’s pooped,” laughs Whiteman.

That’s why this mother of four is getting advice from a pair that’s been through the kid chaos multiple times.

”They’re very entertaining, and again whether there are four or 19, it’s the same basic thing to parents,” said Whiteman.

The Duggars say those things include faith, love, and patience.

“I am wanting to pass on that encouragement.  Just to love your kids.  Enjoy them while you have that at home,” said Michelle Duggar.  “Because before you know it, they’ll grow up.”

“The more you praise them, it just snowballs and it’s really a beautiful thing to watch children grow and develop into Godly young people,” adds Jim Bob.

And by placing their family’s fate in the hands of God, they say the strength of their marriage has grown.

“Right after that the Lord blessed us with twins.  and another one and another one.  We never dreamed we’d have 19 kids and counting,” the Duggars laugh.

Now with a fully loaded family, the Duggars say a solid marriage comes down to humbling yourself around loved ones, apologizing for mishaps, and figuring out life’s challenges together.

“We make mistakes, but we get up and we go on,” said Duggar.

More than 6,000 mom’s from across the United States are taking part in this year’s “Hearts at Home” convention at Illinois State University.

Organizers say that means more than 14,000 children will be impacted.

Today, the BFCA announced the nominees for the 16th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. In light of that, I thought I’d go through and make my choices and predictions for who I believe should/will win each award.. so without further ado, my predictions.

Best Picture: We’ll start with the big one. right off the bat, I think Toy Story 3 and True Grit can be knocked off. Never has an animated movie won this acclaimed award, and the same can be said for remakes. No matter how good either are (Toy Story 3 was good, have yet to see True Grit though), I just don’t see either one bucking that trend. Rather, I think they just received nominations out of respect as they both are (should be) very good movies for the year. Inception and The Town are both very films for the year. however, I think on some level they’re both too blockbuster-ish to really end up walking away with this award. I’d love to see Inception get it, but that’s not going to be the case. the Best Action Movie category will be where these two films shine.

127 Hours I just feel isn’t good Best Film material. This is the sort of film that garners acclaim due to its acting and direction rather than its overall package. sure enough, too, Danny Boyle and James Franco both receive nods in their respective categories. Winter’s Bone is one of those I didn’t quite get the hype of either. especially not in the Best Film category. Jennifer Lawrence turned in an excellent performance in her role. however, while indeed enjoyable, the movie itself didn’t come across as anything too terribly special. The Social Network could be the wildcard here. Seemingly, it has sorta faded from the spotlight. however, critics still enjoy it and could prove to push it through. I don’t think it will outshine the buzz behind the two top contenders, though.

The two films I feel will probably be fighting it out for this award will be The King’s Speech and Black Swan. both have been receiving tremendous amounts of buzz leading into the awards season. both are great films that would make for a nice choice as winner. I do feel The King’s Speech is more Oscar-bait type material, thus more suitable to the liking of critics. however, I’m going to go the other route and predict Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan taking the prize here. Though I’m sure The King’s Speech will prove me wrong (or even more so that The Social Network will come back strong to triumph here).

My Pick: Black Swan

Best Actor: This is a list of some very fine performances. as I mentioned, James Franco gets his nod here, as does my Best Film Runner-up’s Colin Firth. along with him you have Bridges, Duvall, Eisenberg and Gosling getting nods, all of which I don’t really see walking away with the award. Eisenberg and Gosling are both young actors that will have many opportunities ahead of them, I’m sure. however, I don’t think this is their time. I believe their nominations were done more out of respect, again. Duvall, while turning in a nice performance (as he always does), just won’t be hanging with the top in this list, I don’t think. and ultimately, I feel Bridges will be overshadowed by John Wayne. Don’t get me wrong, Bridges is infinitely times more a better actor. however, John Wayne IS Rooster Cogburn. I just don’t think anybody can watch that movie without constantly comparing and thinking of John Wayne in the role (which was a great fit for him).

Ultimately, this will boil down to James Franco and Colin Firth. If I prove to be correct with Black Swan taking the Best Film prize, I’d almost say definitely look for Colin Firth to take Best Actor. otherwise, I actually feel James Franco will be the more deserving of this award. but, I also don’t believe they’ll be letting The King’s Speech cast/crew walk out of there without one of the major awards. I’m going, though, with the one I feel should win.

My Pick: James Franco

Best Actress: First let’s say, Nicole Kidman receiving so many Best Actress nominations in the history of this awards ceremony is a great feat. and it would indeed be something if she won again after having one the very first Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress 15 years ago. That’s not going to be the case, though. now, I’m very pleased to see Noomi Rapace get a nod here for her role in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. She deserves it, I think, but she is not going to win either. Michelle Williams I believe is in the same boat as Ryan Gosling (who’s being nominated for the same movie actually). her nomination being more intended as nothing more than a nod to acknowledge the career of the young actress, but ultimately won’t be in contention at all.

I believe your top 3 contenders here are Bening, Lawrence and Portman. Bening, earlier, received choice as best actress from the NYFCC. Many people have indeed been talking her up as a contender. Plain and simple, though, I just don’t like her. nothing personal, she just irritates the piss out of me whenever I see her on-screen. so, I don’t like her for this award. That leaves Portman and Lawrence, both of which did very good in their roles. If I’m honest, I see Natalie Portman walking away with this. however, I would really like to see Jennifer Lawrence get it. her performance was just great. After having seen her all the time playing the ditsy teenage of The bill Engvall Show, then to watch her transform into Ree Dolly. it was a great turn-around really. Portman, though, we know is a great actress. her performance in Black Swan proves it yet again. so, despite wanting Lawrence to win, I don’t think that’s the way it will go. Maybe she’ll have better luck in the Young Actor/Actress category.

My Pick: Natalie Portman

Best Supporting Actor: all of these nominees are some fine actors. however, in the end I think it is really a race between the top three: Bale, Rush and Ruffalo. these three seem to be the top choices for critics. and all are coming out of some big Oscar-buzz type movies. Ultimately, though, I’d like to see Bale pick this one up. He’s a tremendous actor, I believe. and his dedication to his craft (ie the weight loss) just makes him that much more impressive. His turn as the crackhead half-brother of Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter just further proves Bale can seriously immerse himself into a character.

My Pick: Christian Bale

Best Supporting Actress: I’m going with Jacki Weaver here. while being more under-the-radar and not having as much Oscar buzz as the others, I believe her performance in Animal Kingdom stands out amongst the others here. seeing that she was at least acknowledged enough to be nominated bodes well for her I think. I believe her performance to be one of those that may slip under the radar, but if brought to attention, definitely warrants accolades. it was a very gritty and dynamic character role for her.

My Pick: Jack Weaver

Best Young Actor/Actress: Chloe Moretz receiving TWO nominations in this category proves she could very well grow up to be a force to be reckoned with later on. however, I’m going with Jennifer Lawrence here. as I stated before, her turn as Ree Dolly in Winter’s Bone was really a very good performance. Watching her transform from ‘Lauren Pearson’ to Ree Dolly was truly great. I’ve enjoyed Chloe in her roles, but I really want Lawrence to get some recognition for her turn here.

My Pick: Jennifer Lawrence

Best Acting Ensemble: I mentioned I just don’t care for Bening earlier. I also didn’t give Ruffalo the pick for supporting actor. This here is where I see that cast getting their accolades though. Despite not particularly liking Bening, the ensemble did do a very nice job in The Kids are all Right. I see them getting recognized for it here. That’s if The Social Network don’t swoop in to upend them.

My Pick: the Kids are all Right

Best Director: any choice from this category would be a great choice. and I believe are all viable contenders. while I wouldn’t mind Boyle walking away with this, I see The Social Network picking up its praise here. it really was a good all-around movie. while I feel it was outshone a tad bit in previous categories, I definitely wouldn’t want to leave the movie out. and it was indeed some excellent work all-around. David Fincher sounds like a very good choice to walk away with this award. of course, I am something of a Christopher Nolan fanboy, but that’s just wishful hoping I believe.

My Pick: David Fincher

Best Original Screenplay: I really want Inception to win this one (I told you I’m a Nolan fanboy). I don’t see that happening though. especially not with Black Swan and The King’s Speech breathing down his neck, both of which seem to be getting the critics whipped up in a frenzy of excitement. honestly, I believe this award will go to the one of those two which doesn’t get Best Film award. as my previous pick indicates, that means The King’s Speech gets it here. If my doubts/suspicions come to fruition and The Social Network sneaks in and gets Best Film, then this is a toss-up, I believe. Though, I think in that case they’d give it to The King’s Speech still.

My Pick: the King’s Speech

Best Adapted Screenplay: At the end of the day, I’m not really sure there is a competition here. I think, undoubtedly, The Social Network picks this one up. while the others are very good films, the Social Network was a great all-around movie and a very good story. Losing out on the major categories, this movie will make its mark in the sub-categories. This being one of them.

My Pick: the Social Network

Best Cinematography: This one comes down to two for me: Black Swan and Inception. I think Inception would make a very good choice here and Wally Pfister did a great job. however, I see Black Swan taking this one to tack yet another onto that film.

My Pick: Matthew Libatique for ‘Black Swan’

Best Art Direction: Here’s why I go ahead and give Black Swan the Cinematography over Inception. I feel those two will be splitting these two categories and I feel, hands-down, this is the better category for Inception.

My Pick: Guy Hendrix Dyas for ‘Inception’

Best Editing: My Pick: 127 Hours

Best Costume Design: My Pick: the King’s Speech

Best Makeup: My Pick: Harry Potter

Best Visual Effects Sorry, but none of these others can compare to fights in spinning hallways and zero-gravity. Or with the image of Paris folding over on itself.

My Pick: Inception

Best Sound My Pick: 127 Hours

Best Animated Feature This one should be an interesting to watch. every year (except 2006), the winner of this award went on to receive the Oscar for Best Animated Film. This year critics seem to be pretty torn about which should win, all being very viable contenders. so, the winner here, if history repeats itself as it always seems to do here, should go on to receive an Oscar as well. I can’t really say which way this will tilt. like I said, I believe it really is a close race. Also to note here, Pixar has won all but once when nominated in this category (the time they weren’t nominated, they didn’t have a film for that year). furthermore, Pixar has won the past four years. the end of the Toy Story franchise could very well be a great choice to give them that 5th consecutive award. I’m going out on a limb here, though, and saying DreamWorks upsets Pixar. Though Disney itself stands a good chance as well.

My Pick: how to Train Your Dragon

Best Action Movie: all of these have been fun movies to see. Very enjoyable list, indeed. well, I haven’t seen Unstoppable and don’t really care to so much, but I hear it’s good as well. That being said, I said earlier that Inception and The Town would shine here. Indeed, I believe that to be the case and one of those will walk away the winner here. of course, while Affleck is proving to be a good filmmaker, I’m going with my bias here.

My Pick: Inception

Best Comedy: I’m sorry, I’m not voting for some teeny-bopper high school rom-com. Also, I was rather disappointed with Date Night. while it had it’s funny moments and was enjoyable, it wasn’t at all what I had hoped it could be. Still haven’t seen I Love you Phillip Morris. I did enjoy Get him to the Greek, though as Russell Brand is just fun to watch. Ultimately, though, I see Cyrus being much more critic-appealing material, thus it picking up the win.

My Pick: Cyrus

Best Made-for-TV Film Haven’t seen any of these. so, I can’t say at all really. Though, I do have a couple of friends that seemed to enjoy The Pacific. so I’ll go with that.

My Pick: the Pacific

Best Foreign Language Film My Pick: the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Best Documentary: I don’t watch documentaries, so I’ve never seen any of these. however, all the talk I’ve heard about Waiting for Superman makes me almost want to give it a try. so, for at least tempting me, that gets my pick.

My Pick: Waiting for Superman

Best Song: My pick is Randy Newman here. That song is just a great feel-good song really. however, I do think Shine could sneak in here possibly as it is a good song, and feels more artsy which might appeal to critics better. however, I’m sticking with the Toy Story song.

My Pick: we Belong Together by Randy Newman – ‘Toy Story 3′

Best Score: I love Hans Zimmer’s work and think he’s an excellent composer. It’s like him, John Williams and Danny Elfman are right up there at the top of the all-time bests for me. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised if they give this one to Black Swan with which Clint Mansell did do a very nice job.

My Pick: Inception

So there you have my picks and predictions. Disagree? Let me know below. Or feel free to just discuss which nominees you feel will walk away with their respective awards.

There are two things that people in Memphis are crazy about, BBQ and B-Ball. These two items put together are capable of stirring quite a debate. The first will have a lot of people that will claim that there is no BBQ that is better than that which comes from Memphis. This is a debate that will rage on between the cities of St. Louis and Memphis for a long time. But the greater of the debates has to center around the game of basketball. Memphians like to talk about their beloved tigers, but they LOVE to talk about the fabulous Grizzlies.

So why is the topic of the Griz such a heated one? there are the fans that were opposed to the team coming in the first place, they claim that Memphis didn’t need a basketball team, and certainly didn’t need a new Arena when the city had one that was less than 10 year old and in great condition. Then you have the side that says the team is the best thing that has hit Memphis in a very long time. no matter what side of the debate you are on, there is no denying that there has been a lot of players that have gave the city a reason to be proud of their Grizzlies.

When you are talking about the Memphis Grizzlies, there is a lot that can be said about some of the players that have passed through the locker rooms of the FED-EX FORUM. Many of these players have helped the team to win a number of big games, and have led the team to a series of repeat playoff appearances. one of these players is Pau Gasol. During his time with the Grizzlies, Gasol helped to lead the team to back-to-back playoff appearances. while Pau is no longer with the team, there is a lasting impression that has been made by the accomplishments that he made both on and off the court during his time with the organization. His involvement with Grizzlies house is one of the most important things that he did while in the city. The House as it is called, is a place where the parents of patients at St, Jude Children’s research hospital can stay and get a taste of home during a difficult time in their lives.

Pau Gasol is not the only player for the Grizzlies that has left his mark on the team and the city. there have also been a number of other significants, such as Shane Battier that has made contributions to the team. Coming from Duke University, Battier came to the Grizzlies just as they were making the move to Memphis from Vancouver. once the team was in Memphis, the fans embraced him as being one of their own. it is actually because of Battier that Grizzlies house came to be a reality. For one entire season Battier donated his pay to the construction of Grizzlies house to ensure that it had plenty of funding. it was said that when Battier was the original Memphis Grizzlies and when he left the team the city actually declared a week of mourning for their lost favored son.

These are just two of the examples of players that have made massive contributions to the team. there have been many others such as Mike Miller, and Stromile Swift. all of these players have had a hand in the success that the team has experienced. so while everyone sits around debating dry rub or marinade for BBQ you can talk to your friends in Memphis about the Grizzlies and make it sound like you are the foremost expert when it comes to the team and the players that have led to their success.

Pau Gasol – The Memphis Grizzlies’ Best Asset

ORLANDO, Fla. – Kevin love knows something about dunking. he does most of his dirty work inside for the Timberwolves, but he got to show off his outside touch on Saturday night.

Love beat out Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant to win the 3-Point Shootout. the former UCLA star was consistent throughout, but had to survive a tiebreaker in the first round and sweat out the final few shots from Durant to pull out the 17-14 victory in the final.

Love is in the middle for a breakout season for Minnesota, averaging 25 points and 14 rebounds a game. he also has connected on 49 of 141 three-point attempts for the Timberwolves.

“You know, I’m a guy that loves to rebound the ball, a guy that loves to play inside, really a physical player,” love said. “But for me, coming into the league, I was told not to shoot three-point shots, so to be where I am now and continue to work on my game, I think this definitely speaks to my versatility. I think I’ll just continue to improve year in and year out.”

Love was tied for third after the opening round and beat Miami’s Mario Chalmers 5-4 in a tiebreaker. Defending champion James Jones led all shooters in the opening round with 22, and Durant was next with 20.

Orlando’s Ryan Anderson just missed eliminating both love and Chalmers, making 17 shots after missing his final 2-point money ball.

Love and Durant both had 16 in Round 2 to advance to the finals, with Jones posting 12.

– Utah’s Jeremy Evans won the Slam Dunk Contest.

Evans endeared himself to the fans with a mix of props and creativity, and they voted him the winner of one of the marquee events of the NBA’s All-Star Saturday festivities.

Evans, who got into the competition as a replacement for injured new York guard Iman Shumpert, earned 29 percent of the 3 million votes cast. he beat out Houston’s Chase Budinger, Indiana’s Paul George and Timberwolves rookie Derrick Williams for the Jazz’s first-ever trophy in the contest.

In a departure from past dunk competitions, fans were given complete voting power and cast their ballots by text message after each of the four participants competed in three one-dunk rounds.

Evans dunked with a camera on his head, slammed two basketballs while jumping over a seated assistant and donned a Karl Malone jersey to dunk over mailman-dressed comedian Kevin Hart.

Budinger got just as many cheers from the Amway Center fans as Evans, and some in the celebrity-filled crowd sighed when the winner was announced.

“I’ve very happy with my performance. I went out there, I had a plan and I executed the plan and the fans voted and I didn’t win, and that happens sometimes,” Budinger said. “But I had great dunks and they’re going to be great memories as well.”

– San Antonio point guard Tony Parker won the Skills Competition. Parker was the only one of six participants to break 30 seconds in the first round (29.2), and his time of 32.8 in the final run on the obstacle course was better than Boston’s Rajon Rondo (34.6) and new Jersey’s Deron Williams (41.4).

Your Word against last Night’s Basketball Wives, Latest: throughout this time of year of basketball game Wives, we are felicitous to declare that Royce Reed will once more be recapitulating every episode entirely for the VH1 web log to dedicate the globe her entirely unfiltered take on the demo.

But we also want to tell you that Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada will also write a comment for display on the personal blog which we will be monitoring and we will fill you in on what they have to say about themselves as the drama continues. Here are some excerpts from their recaps of the fiery display this week, and we’d love to hear from you if interpretations of the effect in your opinion one way or another.

Jennifer says:

As you heard at the show tonight, and Evelyn upset with me about a blog that was written by my publicity. the reason is, I did not have time to do personally because I was on vacation in Italy with my friends. I honestly do not think she wrote something shocking or harmful. he stated that my opinion and I feel I’m allowed to have one. Take a look for yourself. this statement was really worth all the drama?

“the idea of jealousy to me to participate Evelyn is a bunch of crap and do not mess around NO with the same kind of men that dates Evelyn. I am getting just a relationship of 10 years, and I am very cautious about who go out with him.”

I really understand what the difficulty is that this blog came out July 19, 2011 and the first time I heard about Evelyn being a crazy and he was in November 2011. when we filmed the reunion in July was a blog, and she did not remember at the time. it is absurd for me to just fight for something very simple in my opinion but I think not in hers. Let it be!

Saw tonight in the world for themselves a kind of evil I deal with. These words pretty much sum up the situation.

Evelyn says:

Tonight her comment, “I can not F *** all I want to F ***, and I do not marry any athlete to curse!” Was again, and very mischievous. it is still basically dissing my relationship and my fiance. what kind of so-called friend you have the courage to do that? And would be why they contradict themselves? you just do not say on the show “I can not f *** all of I want to F ***, and I do not marry any athlete to curse!” I do not get it! if you have sex with, marriage, dating or not you’re still sleeping with athletes and my feet happen to be athletes! Doh! that will be of the same type of person!

What is so crazy that the gene was outside the presence of “relations” with the athletes, and try to play the role of innocent people on the show. Jane and the post season dating, however, acted as if it were not for the viewers. And I do not lie on any of the guys on my personal life, friendships, etc … this is very hurtful to me because I thought it was a true friend, loyal and I, at least, and give the viewers all of me to think seriously that she was happy for me. We were friends for twelve years, and regardless of that she was sentenced Chad and me. In the meantime, she do the same thing. I hope this explains some of the things for all.Source
