Van Halen II is the latest release from Van Halen, and I can only think of one word to describe this CD. AWESOME

It’s a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it’s own.

Van Halen II has a nicely varied, mix of 10 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly superb musicians. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

I’m of the opinion that Van Halen II is certainly some of this groups best work in a few years. A totally enjoyable CD and an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up because it’s a collection that even the casual Rock fan can appreciate and enjoy.

While the entire CD is really very good some of my favorites are track 2 – Dance the Night away, track 3 – somebody get me A Doctor, and track 10 – Beautiful Girls

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [.as in Stuck on REpeat] is track 1 – You’re No good. It’s a great track

Van Halen – Van Halen II Rock Music CD Review

Controversial rapper Kanye West has just released his highly anticipated 5th studio album titled my beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. this is album is Kanye’s first album since his controversial stunt involving country singing super star Taylor Swift. Kanye is known for being a little outside of the box with his music as well as being a musical genius. So the question here is, will this album live up to all of the hype surrounding it. So without further a do, here is my My beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy review.

I am going to rate each song on the album using this scale:

5 = Excellent
4 = Good
3 = Ok
2 = Not Good
1 = Horrible

The album consists of 13 tracks and have a few high profile guest appearances including Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kid Cudi, Raekwon and RZA.

1. Dark Fantasy (1)
2. Gorgeous feat Kid Cudi and Raekwon (2)
3. Power (5)
4. all Of the Lights (interlude)
5. all Of the Lights (5)
6. Monster (3)
7. Appalled (3)
8. Devil in a New Dress (3)
9. Runaway (4)
10. Hell Of a Life (2)
11. Blame Game (2)
12. Lost in the World (4)
13. Who Will Survive in America (outro)

Overall I feel that this album could have been a lot better all around. the beats could have really been more powerful and creative driven. I did really enjoy Power and all Of the Lights. these were 2 definite standout tracks for me. with that being said I give this album a 3 out of 5.

Kanye is set to release an album with rap icon Jay-Z in 2011 titled Watch the Throne. Hopefully this album will be a little better then this one. this has been my Kanye West my beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album review.

The exceptionally talented Jazz artist Sonny Rollins has released him CD entitled Newks Time. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Sonny Rollins fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Newks Time Sonny Rollins’s artistic excellence is on full display as Rollins has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date.

Sonny Rollins is one of those musicians that has the ability to just win you over with him talent. the kind of artist it’s really a treat to be able to listen to.

I’m of the opinion that Newks Time is certainly Sonny Rollins’s best work in a few years. A totally enjoyable CD and an outstanding release. what I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up because it’s a collection that even the casual Jazz fan can appreciate and enjoy.

While the entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 4 – the Surrey With the Fringe on Top, track 5 – Blues For Philly Joe, and track 6 – Namely you.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [.as in Stuck on REpeat] is track 1 – Tune up. Great track

I drafted editorial director Jason Snell to help me figure this one out, and we’ve got good news: any computer that is authorized to play protected iTunes music can add that music to iTunes Match. this is the case even if the Apple ID being used for iTunes Match isn’t the same one that was used to buy the music.

I have an album in my iTunes library that was purchased using a family member’s Apple ID. this album was purchased in the days before iTunes went DRM-free, so every song is a Protected AAC file—that is, they are copy-protected and linked to a single Apple ID. My laptop is authorized to play content purchased by that ID, so I can listen to the song on my computer and on my iPhone; unfortunately, I can’t move it to any other computer of mine (my iMac at work, for example) because that Apple ID has reached its limit of five authorized computers, and protected iTunes music won’t play on computers that are unauthorized.

Enter iTunes Match. When I enabled the service on my laptop, those protected songs showed up with an iCloud Status of Matched. this is the same status iTunes Match uses for songs you’ve ripped from a CD or received from other sources, and it indicates that you can re-download the song again as a DRM-free 256-kbps AAC file.

Before and after: Delete and re-download a protected song you’re authorized to play, and it will convert to a DRM-free AAC.

When I deleted one of these protected songs from my library and re-downloaded it by clicking the iCloud download button, ownership was transferred to my iTunes Match account and the file downloaded as a DRM-free AAC file. So I can now listen that Mike Doughty album on my work iMac, too.

Protected songs you aren’t authorized to play are not eligible for iTunes Match.

Jason and I confirmed that this will only work with songs your computer is authorized to play. I tried adding a protected song of Jason’s—which I am not authorized to play—to my iTunes library, and iTunes Match told me it was “Not Eligible” for matching. once Jason authorized my computer, however, the track status changed to “Matched,” and I was able to delete it and re-download it as my own. When Jason de-authorized my computer, the tracks tied to his iTunes ID were removed from iCloud.

Un-protected purchases do not have this restriction: I added a DRM-free iTunes song to my library that Jason had purchased, and it immediately showed up as “Matched,” no authorization required. (Of course, giving songs to your friends is still illegal. iTunes Match doesn’t change that.)

Both of these methods will require a track that still exists on the iTunes Store; if the track has been pulled, you’ll be given the option to upload the song, but when you re-download it, it will return to your library as a protected .m4p file (if it has DRM) or a DRM-free file with the original owner in its metadata.

While there are almost certainly ways to abuse this feature, it’s good news for families and other groups who bought iTunes music from more than one account in the bad old days of DRM. once you purchase a subscription to iTunes Match, you can merge all your music into a single Apple ID by re-downloading tracks, and on top of that, you can stream it to ten different devices. It only works for music—you can’t do this for mobile apps, videos, podcasts, or any number of other iTunes Store purchases—but it’s a nice start.

The HP TouchPad Tablet

by on August 19, 2011

The HP TouchPad tablet is a relative newcomer on the tablet market today, but is quickly moving up in the rankings because of its ease of use and several things that are not offered on other popular tablets.

The most important of these seems to be the use of Flash, which makes it easier to move through your browser and easily plays video and anything to do with pictures. the HP Pad has this, and that is what people are looking for in a touchpad.

The HP TouchPad tablet is available in 16GB or 32GB, depending upon how much memory storage you’re going to need. It has a 9.7 diagonal backlit LED touchscreen. Actually it’s considered multi-touch, meaning that you can touch, flick, etc., and the digital tablet treats your finger like a mouse, it knows what you want.

Some of the best features of the touchpad HP are:

  • uses flash – so you can watch movies, move through the internet easily, listen to music, read books. Flash is a browser-based system that works on videos and content, working best on mobile devices such as the TouchPad and personal computers.
  • easily multitasks – move easily from one task to the next, and groups activities together that are related. Have more than one screen open, so you can work on multiple tasks at the same time. This computer tablet uses the HP webOS 3.0 to making multi-tasking an easy task.
  • hp synergy – for calendars, appointments, email all synched together from Google, Facebook, MS Exchange. You can have more than one email account open at once, and see all of your personal and work email separately or together.
  • video calling – use this for video chat. You have a fullscreen full-color shot of the person you’re talking to, and a smaller screen of yourself
  • snapshots – this sends you a snapshot of what’s coming into your tablet. if you get a new email, message, or calendar events, you don’t need to be interrupted. You just get a mini reminder of what’s happening, and you can choose to deal with it now, or you can deal with it later.

Some of the apps are limited on the HP Pad, but this is because it’s new, and in time, there will be a huge assortment of apps to choose from. For now, the basic amounts of apps will have to do.

Those who have bought the TouchPad HP have some amazing reviews to give it. It’s rated 4.3 out of 5 stars among users, which is really high. if you want a good, competitive, flash-using PC tablet, the HP TouchPad tablet may be a good choice for you.

Never heard of her.

POLL: have you ever heard of the rapper Kreayshawn? Do you like her music?

It's the scene where Juno is talking to Mark about music and movies. and then the song from the Melvins comes on and he explains to her its a cover song but it IS infact them playing the song. Whats the name of the song???????? I've heard it and seen the video on youtube before but I completely forgot the name of the song so I can't remember.
PLEASE HELP
AND THANKS!

Actually…the melvins do not appear in the film other than the poster and TONS of lip service. In an interview with Buzz he was asked the question along the lines of how could the Melvins be such an intergal part of the movie yet they wouldnt play any of their music. He laughed and said that would mean they would have to get paid and of course in true Melvins fashion that couldnt happen because they never get paid. believe me, if they would have actually played any Melvins song in the movie they would have been credited and paid. Ellen and Jason sing a cover version of Hole's "Doll Parts". However if you confuse Hole with the Melvins well….just go buy some Melvins CD's. you can also check the following link which lists songs played during the movie but not on the soundtrack and alternate b sides "almost" adopted songs for the movie…..

Just keep on listening the the Melvins and you will be alright.

I am planning my wedding and my fiance and I want our wedding to be almost exactly like the wedding from Breaking Dawn. I wrote down all the details from the book but creative suggestions would be great, such as music or decorations or something. thanks for the help!

take the book to your wedding planner and tell them you want this. and they will do it for you.

Thanks for ruining the ending!

Take it to a wedding coordinator. I've never read the book nor have a desire and I have an idea not many people hear have either. If we don't know the book, we can't help you. You're on the right track. next time you post, give us details what you have written down from the book. This will give a better ideas as to what you're looking for :)

How do I recreate Edward and Bella's wedding from Breaking Dawn?

No way! His music is an art, so it's all in the way you hear his music. Listen to it, dig it, get deep. It's beautiful.

Do you feel the need to start taking Prozac after listening to Leonard Cohen music?

A few mouths ago my computer froze so i thought taking the battery out would restart my computer normally again, but then i turned it back on it started peeping every time i try to play anything with sound, other than that everythng works fine. I assume the speakers broke but don’t think so because it peeps loud.
Please give me advice in how to fix it.

What is wrong with my computer if it peeps loud when i try to play music or anything with sound?
