Figuring they’d squeeze in one more shit-storm of controversy before the year is out, Rihanna and Chris Brown have got eyebrows raised and at the ready after sending each other a series of secret-but-not-really-because-it’s-a-public-forum love Tweets. Chris got the ball rolling when he wrote, “Love U more than you know.” And Rihanna replied almost immediately with, “I’ll always love u #1LOVE.” aside from the fact they still had more than enough characters to spell out the goddamn “you” in full, people are saying that the messages were meant for each other. And before all of you hateful, anti-gossip naysayers suggest it’s nothing more than an unsettling coincidence she has been vocally supportive of him in recent months and found herself in the middle of a similar Twitter dalliance a few weeks back when his mom wrote, “HELLO LADY I MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU!!!!!! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!” and Rihanna replied with, “Miss+Love u 2.” Sidebar: what is it with parents and the Caps Lock key? The Beyoncé baby birthing rumors keep on keeping on, with Twitter awash with talk that she’s had the baby girl and named her Tiana-May Carter. no more details than that but we don’t expect her and Jay-Z to confirm anything until that child is old enough to confirm it for herself – so Tiana-May Carter it is! Going with what she knows, Britney Spears is planning a down-home country weddin’. “She wants a traditional Southern-style wedding with comfort food, surrounded by her family, her two sons and all of her childhood friends, as opposed to a Hollywood wedding,” said the unofficial wedding planner/tame tabloid magazine quote generator. Matthew McConaughey Engaged To Camila Alves

Two kids and nearly six years later, Matthew McConaughey popped the question to his longtime lady love, model Camila Alves, over the holiday weekend. Her answer? A big yes! The actor confirmed the engagement on Twitter.

“Just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas,” he tweeted on Christmas Day, also posting a photo of him and Alves kissing next to Christmas decorations. The couple have a 3-year-old son, Levi, and a daughter, Vida, who turns 2 next month.

In the March issue of Esquire, the actor gushed about his bride-to-be. “Before this, I had a super home in the Hollywood Hills that I did by myself — landscaping, detailing pretty much everything. But that house was mine. and yeah, we coulda gone in there right away. Camila would have said, ‘Fine, don’t change a thing.’ But I thought, ‘I found the woman I wanna do it with, the woman I wanna make a family with, hopefully live our life out together.’ She needs to have 50 percent of that,” he said. “I mean, it’s a lot easier for me to be at 100 percent. I’d always been 100 percent. It’s braver for me at 50 percent.”

In September 2008, McConaughey opened up to People about Alves, calling her “the love of my life.” The two began dating in 2006. “I always wanted to be a father and thought it would be great, but it just took the right woman and the right time to make it all happen,” he said. “We’re a family now. I see the future and it’s clearer to me now. Walking around with this cool responsibility all the time, it’s a wonderful thing.”

Detroit Lions Release Statement Regarding Ndamukong Suh’s Thanksgiving Ejection

The Detroit Lions released the following statement regarding the Ndamukong Suh incident earlier this evening:

The on-field conduct exhibited by Ndamukong Suh that led to his ejection from yesterday’s game was unacceptable and failed to meet the level of sportsmanship we expect from our players,” the statement read.

Ndamukong has made many positive contributions to the Lions on and off the field. we expect his behavior going forward to consistently reflect that high standard of professionalism.

We have been in contact with Commissioner Goodell’s office and were advised that, like any on-field matter, Thursday’s incident is subject to review by the league office and that subsequent discipline would be determined by the league office.

EAST LANSING — Michigan State landed at no. 13 in both the associated Press poll and the USA Today coaches’ poll Sunday after beating Minnesota 31-24 on Saturday at Spartan Stadium.

The Spartans (7-2) came in at no. 17 in the BCS standings.

Penn State (8-1) is the only Big Ten Conference team ranked higher than the Spartans. the Nittany Lions are ranked no. 12 in both polls and the BCS.

LSU is no. 1 across the board following its win over Alabama on Saturday night.

Michigan State plays at Iowa next Saturday, and the Big Ten announced Sunday that game will be at noon.

McRib is back … along with unicorns, Viking accountants

The here-again, gone-again McRib is here again nationwide – and this time McDonald’s is playing up the barbecue sandwich’s elusiveness in a social media campaign designed to lure in new fans through Facebook.

It’s a digital game called “The Quest for the Golden McRib" and the idea is to find 10 online golden McRibs hidden in cyberspace all while interacting with colorful characters such as unicorns that love barbecue and Viking accountants. (Viking accountants?)

Apparently, McDonald’s is trying to convince a new generation of youngsters to try the McRib. That’s probably a smart marketing move, because adults seem to have already made up their minds about the sandwich.

Some people love it, and will log on to the McRib locator to find which local McDonald’s restaurants are serving them during the year. others can’t stand the McRib, put off perhaps by the way the pork is formed to give the illusion that there are bones in the meat.

The McRib will be available in all McDonald’s restaurants until Nov. 14.

When McDonald’s brought back the McRib nationwide last year for a limited time (after 16 years of appearing sporadically, at the discretion of individual franchise owners), the company tried a Twitter campaign that drew criticism for creating a host of negative comments about the sandwich.

“‘McRib is Back’ Promotion Turns Into a Twitter Roast” ran the headline from ClickZ, a website specializing in interactive marketing news. The story suggested that the promotion was actually hurting the brand because there were so many negative comments. (McDonald’s social media director said at the time that the report was incomplete because it was purely anecdotal.) a check of Twitter early Tuesday afternoon suggests that this year again, the negative views of the sandwich are beating the positive ones, 15 to 10. But maybe that just adds to the sandwich’s mystique. after all, if you’re going to hang out with Viking accountants, you’re not exactly mainstream.

I was just working on a post when my ears perked up from something Ron Jaworski said on Monday Night’s broadcast.

Did he just say what I think he said?

After examining the tape just like Jaws would, I was able to confirm it.

“That’s one Chad [Henne] would love to have back. He knew he had the one-on-one matchup going down the right sideline. S—, you have to get rid of this ball just a split second quicker,” Jaworski said.

It was probably unnecessary to check the tape. I could have gone to Twitter, where thousands of adults gleefully reveled in a naughty word being used on national television.

S—, that was pretty funny.

One of the best ways to waste time (and thoroughly enjoy yourself at the same time) is by looking up political humor. if you have even only a passing interest in Obama and American politics in general, you’ll find that political humor is thriving on the internet The amount of funny pictures, macros, videos, and jokes online seem to be never ending

Here are some examples of what you can expect to find: Photographs taken at the wrong time, like Obama craning his neck to get a good look at a woman’s backside. These types of things tend to go viral very quickly, spreading throughout Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, Digg, Mixx, and more. The best part is that once you have found one funny picture or video, you will tend to be hooked, sifting through tons of stuff, eager to get your next fix of hilarious political humor.

The Game Tangles With the Law, Preps Fourth Album

For about two hours on a recent Friday in August, the Compton, Calif., sheriff’s station was bombarded with calls. but the flurry of activity wasn’t due to a catastrophic emergency. It was due to a tweet.

At 5:23 p.m. on Aug. 12, a tweet was sent from the account of Los Angeles-based rapper Game (@thegame). He encouraged his followers to call a certain number if interested in an internship with him. The number was in fact for the “help” line at the Compton Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. While the sherrif’s department explores its legal options, Game, who has a Los Angeles Dodgers logo tattooed on his face and more than 580,000 Twitter followers, has denied responsibility, claiming that his Twitter account had been hacked at the time of the tweet. It was just the latest squall of controversy in Game’s stormy career.

A month before the Twitter fiasco, Game released his Hood Morning (No Typo): Candy Coronas mixtape, a precursor to his fourth studio set, The R.E.D. Album (Aug. 23, Geffen). The mixtape featured the song “Uncle Otis,” a scathing diss track that piggybacked on the buzz for “Otis,” the lead single from Jay-Z and Kanye West’s chart-topping collaborative album, Watch the Throne. in “Uncle Otis,” Game verbally assaults longtime target Jay-Z and name-checks a laundry list of stars, more than half of whom he’s previously collaborated with: West; Big Sean; Kelly Rowland; viral sensation Kreayshawn; DJ Khaled; Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator; Lupe Fiasco; Jennifer Lopez; Marc Anthony; Morris Chestnut; Nicki Minaj; Frank Ocean; Wiz Khalifa; and Amber Rose.

For Game, the name-dropping and trash talking are all part of his MO. “What kills me is that people pretend or act like they don’t know what Game is about,” says the rapper, born Jayceon Taylor. “I’m never changing. [The] only thing that will change is that I evolve as a man, and get [wiser], become more full of life as far as my family and everything is concerned, [and] maybe a more seasoned MC. but the core of who I am is not changing. So the shot in the dark at Jay or whoever on ‘Uncle Otis,’ you might get another one in six months or a year.”

Just three weeks later, Game released “500 Bars,” a 20-minute freestyle in the tradition of his earlier 200-, 300- and 400-bar marathon rap sessions (bars being individual rap couplets) calling out about as many names as he could fit into rhyme.

Game earned his audacity the hard way. after attracting the attention of Dr. Dre with a string of impressive mixtapes in 2004, he landed a deal with Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment and a billing as a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit. but shortly after dropping his 2005 debut The Documentary (G-Unit/Aftermath/Interscope), Game was ousted from G-Unit for what 50 termed “disloyalty.” And yet, Game survived the rift, fan base intact, and his subsequent albums, 2006′s Doctor’s Advocate (Geffen) and 2008′s LAX (Geffen), both of which featured numerous guest appearances, would debut at Nos. 1 and 2 on the Billboard 200, respectively, and go on to sell a combined 1.8 million units, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The rollout for The R.E.D. Album has also been rocky. Initially rumored to be a holiday 2009 release, the album has had its release date repeatedly pushed back for reasons that remain unclear. Today, Game says the delays were deliberate. “I been working on [the album] for a long time but I kept delaying it because I wanted to drop right in the middle of Watch the Throne and [Lil Wayne's] Tha Carter IV,” he says. “That’s my own ingenious plan.”

But the delays haven’t been the only problem. The album’s first single “Red Nation,” produced by Cool & Dre and featuring Lil Wayne, and extolling the virtues of life as a member of the Bloods gang, failed to chart, and the song’s highly stylized, apocalyptic video was rumored to have been banned by BET and MTV. Follow-up single “Pot of Gold” has fared only slightly better. Produced by the Futuristiks and featuring Chris Brown, “Gold” adheres dutifully to a growing trend of hip-hop acts using singles to lament the intangible woes of fame. Over the chorus’ meditative guitar plucks Brown sings, “The spotlight is not for me.” The song is no. 62 after five weeks on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Still, despite the delays and the lack of a hit single, Interscope director of marketing Jason Sangerman points to Game’s connection to his fans as the thing that sets him apart. “The R.E.D. Album has been in the works for a long time and Game’s fan base has remained loyal, so we want to make sure they get what they deserve,” he says. “Game’s fans are loyal to him because he is loyal to his fans.”

Game says he feels the same love in the music industry. “I got a good rapport with most hip-hop artists and I just been such a real dude my entire career [that] it’s nothing for me to reach out to get a [16-bar verse] or a hook,” he says.

True to his word, The R.E.D. Album is packed with guests including Lil Wayne, Drake, Snoop Dogg, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and Nelly Furtado. Most surprising, though, is a guest verse from Dr. Dre on the DJ Khalil-produced West Coast anthem “Drug Test” (also featuring Snoop). Although earlier rumors suggesting that The R.E.D. Album would appear on Dre’s Aftermath proved untrue, the song marks the first time Dre has rapped alongside Game on any of the latter’s albums.
